While i was buffing on dath and had some downtime, i got to thinking... what is the most importiant part of a buffbot macro, its not the flourishes, its not the text. its getting the customer in the group. so, the way one could fix this, is to simply dissalow /join in macros this means:
- Buffbots cannot function as they cannot join groups
- afk grinding will at least be slower, because if the group is disbanded, they cannot rejoin unless they return to the keyboard
as for the afk flourishing... i cant think of anything yet, but this is defintly a start.

The goal of the removal of recursive macros, are not only to stop buffbots, but to stop AFK play in all professions.
Your suggestion would stop buffbots as they are now, and it have been suggested here before.

This doesn't stop buffbots. It only stops one KIND of buffbot. I can, off the top of my head, think of two other ways (completely within the game system) to create a buffbot without using /join. Be that as it may, the goal is not to eliminate buffbots, it is to eliminate unattended "play."

You'd be surprised how many times I type /join or /decline rather than clicking the little box. That might screw me up.

But that's typing it. He said to make it so you can't have it in macros. But I still don't agree with the method.

The method may inconvenience a lot of us. But it does put a stop to a majority of unattended play. I can't come up with a better, far reaching (and with the least amount of work/code change), alternate idea. If you can, please post it.
