Thread: New Master Musician needs help

Finally, after over a month of playing I mastered musician and can now use my funky Nargalon - now I just wish I was fat, blue and with big floppy ears!
Anyways, I have a couple of questions.
- Is it possibe to get BE clothing that will enhance wound/fatigue healing and buff power/duration?
- Why do flourishes seem to have a slight pause at the start of each one? It makes putting a song together really hard and to be frank, sounds pants!
- In the past I have visted Master Musicians/Dancers who have a macro for non-recursive ATK buffing. So for example, during groupchat they will inform that there is x minutes remaining and so forth. As a customer I found this informative and helpful and as such implemented a similar thing when I was a Master Doctor.
Has anyone got a reference macro for this? At the moment I find my buffing is very inconsistent and believe a macro would solve this, and as a side note it would allow me to continue to be more "social" at the same time - otherwise I find myself "clock-watching".
Allow me to re-iterate, I'm asking for a non-recursiveATK macro. I haven't worked all the way through Musician to become an /afk buff bot; I only have 1 account and have much better things to do with my electricity than becomebuff bot.
Erm, I think that's it.

CONGRATULATIONS!!
I know what you mean when you say you want to look that way. If I could look like Max Reebo, Droopy McCool, or even a Bith, I'd jump at the chance.
BE clothing is available to enhance Wound Healing. Clothing attachments with fatigue healing seem to be halfway common (at least on Tempest), however, Mind Enhance tapes are rare and pricey. Seems only the bots can afford the best of them.
It also seems that the Sand People have a passion for music. I've found a few pieces of Tusken Raider clothing with Musical Mind Enhancement. Check your server's Auction Channel, and Auction Board for availability.
As for flourishes... I share your frustration. However, that's the problem you get with a music system designed by a game soundtrack engineer, rather than a composer. Do your best.
Buff macros... A touchy subject indeed. Without getting into specifics, I'll try to help. It's been posted in our FAQ post (thankyou NJ) that it seems the number of flourishes you do (and maybe the instrument/song) determines the length of time the patron needs to listen to receive the full buff. Test yourself, and see how long it takes you to complete these flourishes, both with Accaragm or a Quickness buff, and without.
For the buff itself, a notification that the buff is beginning (using the patron's name is nice), your flourish macro, a pause for the length of time needed to complete the flourishes, a closing, letting the patron know when to /stoplisten(again,I recommend using the patron's name to attract their attention), and then /dump to stop your macro.
I hope this has been a help. Please forgive my obvious lack of certain details. Don't want to make it any easier for the bot trolls.

I am not going in to specifics on the macro either... but you could do a separate macro. However, you could do a separate time macro.
Lets say it takes you 4 minutes to do a full 2 hour buff, And it a active buff. Then something like.
/setperform;
/tt The buffing process will take 4 minutes, do not start listening to or watching anyone else during the buffing process.;
/pause 60;
/tt 3 minutes to the buff is done.;
/pause 60;
/tt 2 minutes left;
/pause 60;
/tt one minute left.
/pause 30;
/tt 30 secounds left.
/pause 30;
/tt the buff is done. You can /stoplisten now.
The /tt sends a tell to your current target. So you would have to keep the one you are buffing targeted the whole time.

Bio-enhanced clothing can only modify Wound Healing. Fatigue Healing, Musical Mind Enhancement and Instrument Assembly (our other skills) can only be modified by Skill Enhancing Attachments (and ours only come in clothing attachments). You can get a few different types of clothing made with the maximum bonus of +25 to Wound Healing. It helps when someone comes in who's completely black-barred, but other than that, it's not all that great.
The timing is off on the music in-game. I'm not enough of a RL musician to be able to say more than that, but it's been often-remarked-upon. There's no way around it, it just sucks.
I don't have a non-recursive macro for playing 5 flourishes every 8 seconds. I use a looping macro for that. I do have one that has a built-in timer for /setperform:
/hum;
/setperform;
/ventril;
/distract;
/alarmAddIn 0 3 Buff Done!;
/pause 190;
/jam self;
You could definitely put in /tt messages, too. When I emote that I'll be just a moment, that's when it's done. I have /gc text messages when I'm doing it in a group, but I made that part of a looping macro, which you said you don't want.
