Thread: So a new song AND a new instrument?

So am i correct in understanding that we musicians are getting a new song AND a new instrument? If so then that rocks! =) its been waaaaaaay to long. Im psyched! hehehe. So when the heck is pub 10.2 supposed to go live? anybody know?

As far as I know its just a new song. One of the posters got the music from the new song and its at ....

Well I know there isa new instrument in the pub 10 tre file, its called a Xantha - I extracted the new song's instrument flourishes and built up several tunes with different instruments using Goldwave, then saving them as mp3s.. sounds like a beefed up Mandovial. Whether or not it'll be included in 10.2 is another matter entirely though!

I don't know anything more thanyou all. To tell you the truth, I haven't pressed the devs for details because I'm kind of looking forward to the surprise. (For that reason I've even refused to listen to samples of the song.) Of course, I'll test the new song and instrument on Test Center the minute it shows up there. But I figure the song and instrument are already locked in, so there's no point in my pestering the devs for info about them. I prefer to pester them for *more* songs and instruments instead.

And all I know is what has been stated by some of our great members who have tried the quests on TC. It will be so awesome if not only do we get a song, but we get a new instrument. That just might shut me up for at least....... a few days

Im still hosting mine on that thread. I completely forgot about them. The Xantha is really puzzling me. Theres the sound files for it for the new song. But none for any of the old ones. I can't find any texture files relating to it yet. I have a feeling that you play along side someone with the Xantha during the quest. Which would be a shame as its a stringed and wind instument combined in Starwars folklore and sounds awesome.

I have a suspicion the Xantha will sound identical to the Mandovial on older songs, hence the lack of any Xantha flourishes for the existing songs 
Looking at the way the current instruments do this (Fizzz,Kloo,Chidinkalu etc etc) I won't be suprised if that is the case.
