Thread: Something heavy!

We desperately need something heavy sounding for a song selection. All the stuff we have is sooooo fluffy and poofy, which is fine and good and has its place, but come on already give us something with an edge so we got at least a little variety. Im hoping the new song has some teeth to it!

They REALLy need to allow musicians the option of composing their own songs using a process similar to making firework packages only inserting notes instead of fireworks. That would jam. =)

If they add something heavy, they need to make it so it can only be played with bandflos...
Given the sound of starwars1 when everyone's doing their own thing, I can only shudder to think about what a heavy song would sound like that way.

Something heavy would be one of 2 things in my book... A moody heavy tribal kinda jungle sounding song.Something to get yer pulse punding but edgey. Or... something more overtly intense heavy like heavy metal and/or techno fusion. 8) That would jam.

Nirvana/ACDC's style would be more than enough in terms of heavy, but how would there be a heavy song on:

Drums/Guitar - Easy

Trumpet (Chid. Horn)

Bass Clarinet (Trazz)

Piano (Nalagaron)

The best we could hope for is some sort of Skaa

Ommni/Bandfill: Drum Set

Nalargon: Electric Keyboard(?)

Chindukla Horn: Another Techno sound like from the new song

even though i love starwars 1 with the mand, i have to chime in on this one

after watching the special Building an Empire, dcumentary on the making of episodes 4-6, lucas commented on the music of star wars in the disco era... he said he wanted to do something totally out of synch with the times and went almost 100% orchestra, the only exceptions were the cantina in episode 4 with all orcestra insturments run through a synthesizer to give them an electric feel and episode 6 in jaba's palace, with the original doing the same, but the special addition concentrating more to syntesized keyboards but still holding true to having orcestra in the background.

going by that, even the sound of starwars 1 is a bit out of the 'star wars' feel with the mand with the guitar and virtuoso is off with an electric piano.

i think a hard rock song would push the entertainer aspect further from star wars than we need.

I dunno, techno is usually the exact opposite of heavy. Maybe they could make the nalagaron (don't bother reading past this point, it won't happen. ever. the devs are too lazy.) add a distortion effect to the electric guitar/bass (with the mando being the regular guitar and the tobe xanathan being an electric bass). It would play cleanly until the nalagaron comes in, distorting the guitars. The chid. horn would modify drums. The Trazz could be the deeper bass synth, but nothing too major, just enough to support the guitars. This is what the ommni box was origionally supposed to do.

This game is so totally off continuity now, does it really matter?

By the way, I watched that special too...it was pretty cool. I am holding out hope that George will let EP3 be as Dark as I think it should be. Hehe, if there is ever a way we will get to watch Jedi destroyed by the dozens, then that film should be a must watch
