Thread: Question about what kind of songs a droid can play.

I never owned a music playing droid, but It can't play anything higher than what you have the skills for since you have to play so it records you?
Well...theoretically, you could get someone else to record a track for you. For instance, if you know someone who is a Master Entertainer and at least Novice Musician after that, you could transfer a droid with multiple playback modules to them, have them record StarWars1/mandoviol, Folk/mandoviol, Ballad/mandoviol and Waltz/mandovioltracks, have them hand the droid back and then use it when you yourself perform those songs. That would be ideal if you don't yet have Master Entertainer/can't spare the points, something like that. Or if you've gone up the Techniques tree first or something, and want a droid with the percussion for the songs you can play, get someone to record SW1, SW2, Folk & SW3 on the bandfill for you to help you fill out those songs when you play them. You could even get a Master to lay down the narlagon tracks if you actually like the sound of it and don't have the Master Musician skill yet.
Were you to do something like that, though, you'd have to be careful not to delete those tracks, because you wouldn't be able to re-record them yourself unless you gained the skills.
An Advanced R3 droid is capable of having the highest number of playback, effects or storage modules at 6 total modules. An Advanced Probot can have the next highest number, at 5 (and I think looks cool 'cause it floats). Warryyr could probably make you one, and by tonight or tomorrow at the latest, I hope to start having available neat-o effects and playback droids for Musicians and Dancers. I can't record mandoviol tracks for you, but I could record anything else if you wanted.

If a non-musician is holding a playback droid and has it befriend a musician can the musician then get it to play with /startb? I want to experiment with some multi-instrument songs but getting a group together to sit around and just compose can be difficult. I know that befriend will allow a non-CH to command the CH's pets while they aretogether so wondered if the same would work for a playback droid.
Friending is not really an issue if its programmed. If it is programmed all you need is for it to be grouped andnon musician can do that. Then it will respond to /band commands like /startb, /stopb and /bandflo from anyone else in the group....like all other musicians. You need to be Novice Musician to program the tracks or execute the effects (FX can be nov Dance too).
