I did a search and didnt find this so excuse me if this has been discovered. BUT

I was going through the // command help and found this command.

/dumpPausedCommands

I typed it in to see what would happen and it stopped a macro i had running. I tested it again. Again it stopped the loopmacro i had running for an arrangement on one of my songs mid stream.

So there it is all. The way to stop macros, just make a macro with just /dumpPausedCommands and put it on your toolbar!

I still dont see how a musician can get along without a macro.

I've got one for every song. I sit down for a few hours and go through the flourishes and find the right patterns for maximum flow and tune matching with the song and write out a good 3 to 4 minute version of my songs so that when i play i can sound really good AND be able to chat with the people in the cantina.

Not to say that i dont just jam sometimes, but when i jam i find it hard to greet the patrons and talk with the band while constantly pressing buttons.

Dont get me wrong, I dont condone AFK xp macroing out in the middle of the cantina . but goodness people. Macros dont have to be used for evil. Its a tool to make us able to compose our own versions of songs. I was a virtuoso before i found out about macros and when i did i was excited to be able to compose!

If you do it enough, it becomes second nature. The songs I play alot I start to remember what flourishes sound good together, what don't.. For example, starwars3 on the kloo horn, I know an unflourished measure sounds good followed by 1, 3 or 6. 3 can be repeated for good effect, and can be followed by 4 or 7.. And so on.. As for chatting (I don't actually talk when playing a wind instrument, at least not IC, but still emote and such) I pressed hundreds of buttons to type this sentence.. What is a couple more to keep the song going?

But I agree, macros for pre-arranged songs can be nice. Not being a musician by trade however I usually don't bother.

Oh thought I'd add, the command to stop a macro can be abbreviated to /dump (I think even /dum but I forget.. But /d and /du are /duel)

Cool! I don't use macros, but I'll pass this along to my friends who do.
