If this has been mentioned before I apologize.

It occurs to me that as you become amore proficient musician, you should get better and better gig missions. Currently they are low paying one shot gigs. Not bad for local gigs, but terrible for across planet or off-planet ones. First, gigs should pay based on travel distance so one can at least pay for the ticket to get there.

The other thing I was thinking about was touring. As in, higher level msuicians get tour gigs where they travel to multiple cantinas/hotels/theaters across the planet(s). Basically a multi-part mission. The pay is based on distances traveled as well as numbers of additional tour locations.

This can also be taken one step further where it is timed. I.e. You have to do 3 tour dates at the 3 different tour locations in 3 days (for example).

Perhaps this would not be ideal for the gig terminals we curently have, I am not sure how much that would have to be changed to compensate for multiple loactions. But perhaps as quests from nobles or the occassional moisture farmer.

In any event, I think it would add some depth to the musician (and other entertainers of course) where you can get your name known in other places around the galaxy, and get paid for it!

Name in neon lights perhaps?

That, Tarac, is an EXCELLENT idea--the first of its kind, that I've seen. The tour would add a whole new dimension to the profession, especially if the rewards somehow increase for groups (i.e., long-term bands). (I certainly wouldn't be against names in lights, but I'm guessing that's more fitting on a wish list than on a compilation of suggestions for the near future. But the dream's a good one. )

Thanks for the thoughts. Hope to see more from you in the future.

Thank you Terian.

Does anyone else have any additions to this for better gig missions?

I like those ideas, too. I'd also like to see a greater variety of rewards for gig missions (and for all missions, for that matter). Perhaps a "badge" for a mission that requires you to tour every planet, or a nice musical prop (akin to the existing "speaker" quests), or a new light show, or even (gasp) a new song or flourish. I'd also like to see an epic quest for Musicians, but that's a separate issue.
