Hey Gang,

I just recently gained Musician. I'm a short way away from my first musician skill (other than the healings of course). Which is more valuable to the begining musician... Musical Techniques I or Musical Knowledge I? I REALLY want the fireworks... But are they going to speed me along the track to MK1 or are they just for show? Thanks for the advice. Oh and the Mandovial is SOOO worth it.

If you want the most "efficient" advancement (xp in the least amount of time), then go all the way up the Music Knowlege branch before doing Tech. The Knowlege boxes add songs and instruments, both of which improve the earning of music xp. The Tech branch only adds the lightshows (which do not give xp and are pretty heavy action hits) and the Mind Enhancement buff that recently came to light.

Of course, if you're like me you want pretty lights, so you'd go up Tech and Knowlege simultaneously (although I did learn to do knowlege first).

And yes, the Mando is worth it. Just wait until you can play Waltz with it.

I agree with Sci. I went and took Tech I before Knowledge I in the dancing tree...and am regretting it, trust me. The lights are cool, granted, but add nothing but flair. No xp, no healing boost, nothing. Go Knowledge first, all the way. ^.^

Tech is cool for the schematics but Knowledge is essential because it will decrease the amount of times you have to say "I can't play that song."

The lights look nice, but they just burn action and don't grant XP or accellerated healing.

Go for knowledge first, us higher level musicians are being driven batty by the lower songs. Its a bless from heaven to be able to play waltz and jazz.

New songs is definitly better than the light and the ability to make your own instruments (I even sold one Nalargon to a new master musician)
