Holos are evil?
I don't know... with all the folks who were complaining about how hard it was to get apprentice XP because of the lack of noobs, you'd think most consider holos a godsend.
Are you getting down about things that happened to you in the game, or just stuff you read on the boards? Cos if you get down about stuff you read on the boards, stop now!
They are terrible. ![]()

I'm sad about seeing people coming in to the Cantina's asking to disease people so that they can get mind wounds so the Holo-tainers can get the healing xp. That's what gets me.
It's not just holo-tainers. EVERYONE is having problems getting healing XP due to players being more careful about how often they die unregistered and uninsured. When I was finishing my last box of healing XP I was seriously considering paying people to wound their minds...

Yea...you are right. I guess I'm just very fortunate to have completed all of this before the recent patches. I know I try to offer a "Live" Entertainer some healing xp before I decide to heal myself.

And you were a master before the patch weren't you? All I know is that I have never heard a complaint in game about the extra healing exp generated by the diseased people.
Just for the record, there are plenty of "honorable" musicians out there and ways for them to make money and exp. Most of the major cantinas a bustling with entertainers, but none are there. A "live" musician can still offer worthwhile benifits to those cantinas through their buffs, and still have fun once you put all the macro spam on ignore. I used to just go to the cantinas to grind and knock musicain out. I have found that you cannot just knock it out, so I have turned to having some fun with it (kinda). I have maxed my musician exp, while I still have 70,000 entertainer healing experience left, so I make sure I am around to greet people as they come in, and buff those that scream for it. That way, when I am on, I get customers and don't necessarily need to be in "the group." By the time I am done, it will have taken me approx 20 days to master.
I guess the bottom line is, enjoy your toon and ignore the others. It is not an easy lesson, nor is it one I feel you should have to learn in a game, but it has become necessary.
I gave up on going to those cantinas, except for Moenia they are zombie towns, each time I wanted in a group the leader was AFKor was complaining about conversation being to busy and not noticing my 3 group requests when I complained that yet another leader was AFK, odd enough nobody else was talking and I colored the words Group, Invite, Join, Tip, Credit andBank long ago in red.
I've been working on my medic skills and I took up gunfighting, YAY, can't wait till I qualify for a republican blaster. Crafting stimm B's is annoying though when you get critical failures and you need to redo the 3 components for 1 stupid stimm pack. And this way I can get out of our cantina when it's empty and have some fun and still be nearby so people can call me when I'm needed ![]()
I think the overall problem you're having is a culmination of recent problematic trends in game:
1) The population is more spread out, as a whole, making the smaller town much less populous. Formerly bustling towns, like Tyrena, are now vacant ghost towns. I think I saw a tumbleweed the other day. The recent release of Player Cities, as cool as they are, have heightened this issue. If populations do not return to the other cities, these problems will continue to exist.
2) People want to get XP quickly. Whether this is from the Holocron craze or just human nature in general, this makes people gravitate to those locations to where they will get XP quickly. This has made entertainer group management in Coronet and Theed to be insanely competitive. Yesterday I witnessed SEVEN entertainers spend an hour on a waiting list to get into the main Coronet group. Naturally it never occurred to them to a) interract with the others on the waiting list to form a 2nd group (I finally suggested it) or b) go to another city (something that I've done in the past). I also had a doctor demand to be let in to the already full (with a waiting list) entertainment group and threatened that he wouldn't heal anyone if I didn't. (I didn't let him in, but this is another rant entirely.)
I'm approaching this, just as any other post. I've come to realize though.. that the fact is no matter what I say, there probably is no use. I can compare this arguement to mac's vs pc's kind of deal.
There is nothing funnier these days then seeing the "OMG JEDI'S ARE WORTHLESS PERMADEATH MAKES ME CRY, GROUP HUG.. *where are my doritos*"posts.
You make a mockery of your on profession. Of course, I do admit there are numerous problems to the jedi system, decay and repair, and so forth. The facts are though, the only real way to balance jedi population is extermination. Do you think SOE wants you to master jedi? Hell no. Once several problems are addressed and fixed, I do believe it will balance out alot more. Cries for "OMG NERF THE BOUNTY HUNTERS LETS HOLD HANDS" and so forth is getting quite old. Obviously there are bugs with missions. Obviously there are probably close to 100 problems and bugs facing a jedi, but do you think these posts really matter? Do you think that SOE is listening to your outcries? Do you think having a article published by Gamespy will further promote fixing of problems. Hell no, when and if there is even an article published.. wow do you really think that they will realize, "oh guys remember there are problems with jedi... yeah someone should do something about that sometime".
You worked hard and you got a jedi, jollys to you. If you're given lemons make lemonaid. Tough luck.
Yours truely,
Apermadeath supporter.
So, anyone that complains or tries to afect change is a whiner? Go it.
So even though there may be problems with the profession that lie outside the intended scpoe of the game, people should just shut up and take it? Got it.
So basically, you don't want to hear people complaining because...
because...
because, uhm, becaue youi don't have your slot yet? Got it.
I sincerely wish you the best of luck on opening your slot Darth-Absurdity, then we will all get the pleasure of hearing you bellowing the loudest - mark. my. words.
