Thread: Musician Buff Bug?
When I realized my error and did a /stoplisten, the buff did not take effect.
Just wanted to see if this was a known issue.
Thanks!

I was just listening to a musician for 5 minutes to get a mind secondaries buff, in group with her and everything. At the end of her performance, I accidentally did a /stopwatch instead of a /stoplisten.

Possibly
There is a known issue where you cannot get music and dance buffs at the same time. At the code level it may be in the commands themselves as opposed to the process. I do know that if you are watching a dancer and listening to a musician AT THE SAME TIME and both are part of a buff process (active or passive), you will only receive the buff for the one you stop first. So if you /stopwatch first, you will receive the dance buff, but when you /stoplisten you will get nothing. The reverse is also true. By mis-typing /stopwatch, that may have tried to activate a dance buff that wasn't happening and thus nullified the music one.
Thereare other things that mess it up tho. I believe the armor bug is still in there. If your armor puts your focusor willpower to 1/1 and gives you a "makeup modifer" so it isn't negative, the "makeup modifier" is viewed as a music buff....and you can't overbuff music you know. This can happen if you brandy to put on armor or put on armor under a previous buff that has expired.

yeah, what is this active buff where you dont have to group the person?
It should be in the FAQ, but.....
Grouping for buffs is refered to as "passive"
Active is when the performer does a /setperform (can be abbreviated to /setperf or even /setp)to the buff recipient. The listener get a message saying "(performer) has directed their performance to you". With this, grouping is unnecessary, however a performer can only "direct" to one person at a time. The listenign and timing factors are identical to group buffs, the only difference is the listeners method of receiving it. BTW a performer cannot self direct either.
