Hello rockstars!

Since I've never even been a novice entertainer this is my first visit to the musician forum, so if my little idea has been brought up before somewhere I apologise. Maybe it already exists in the game, what do I know?

This is my idea:

A musician could learn the ability to "record" a song to a datadisc. The music can be more vaired if the level of the musician is higer or if there is a group playing different instruments. The disc could then be sold to other players and that other player can load the disc into a speaker or droid (with entertainment module)and then you can have music in your home, mall, guildhall or whatever. It should be possible for players to ignore the music from the speaker if it gets annoying. One sound source per building/camp may be necessary. Maybe the listener should choose "Listen" himself/herslef just as from an live entertainer.

Greatest Hits? Anyone? Where is the recordstores?

And yes ... if you can make Heavy Metal discs that would be a great plus, but not a demand from my side

Keep on rocking in the free galaxy!!!

I've seen suggestions for "holodisks" to allow entertainers to prerecord buffs but never just as a music source. I like this idea a lot, it would be cool to actually see record collections from this. It would also benefit the DE and Musician because there would be a demand for the playback droid which requires both skills to make.

Thanks for a cool idea

I've brought various similar proposals to the devs over time, and they've never really "run with" any of them. I'm not sure why. One possible concern is that a recording might devalue us live entertainers: if someone can buy my disk, why hire me to perform at a gig? Then again, people pay for the "person" as much as the music at a gig.

I'd also like to see some heavy metal.

No kidding. We can currently /bang our heads to the music, however we really have no banging music to bang to. I think it would be banging to bang to banging music.

Whoa... Ever notice how dizzy you get from repeated headbangs?

More serious songs! We need a Requiem!

Heh

But Heavy Metal would be cool. Or, you know, a Rock song that actually sounds like... Rock.

LoL, Bantha, at least the bandfill track of Rock sounds something like rock. Doesn't it? I like playing it as a solo.

lets get a little System of a down! Chop Suey!, Prison Song, Aerials, etc. are all great! Haha, but we will never... ever... EVER get something that sounds remotley that good.

My idea:Take the populareJay software, and have each instrument capable of laying down a pre-setpiece of musicdown. Without a live person, it will sound like crap, but with effort, it can sound godly. Take the punk-o-matic for example (i'll get a link eventually).
