This is a thread asking for a hotfix to the "droid grouping in space" issue.
Music Entertainer droids are useless unless they are grouped so the droid's playback is heard by all.
You cannot group a pet in space.
The droid will not come with you if you group him on the ground.
Ergo, Music Entertainer droids are useless on yachts.
Yachts have great party potential.
Musicians are being left out of party potential.
Musicians are angry.
Musicians will start smashing Mandiovlis if this isn't fixed.
Please fix droid grouping in space.
That is all.

I can understand why the devs prevented pet grouping in space but you'd have thought that they would have made an exception for droids fitted with entertainer modules only.
I guess that the /group command would need to be updated to see if the "pet" being grouped with was 1) a droid and 2) contains entertainer modules only. This would I suspect require a lot of dev time to code and test which is why I don't think we will ever get grouped pets in space with us.
Why are grouped pets not allowed? I suspect this is due to the corvette. If we were able to bring or group with pets on our ships then the same would be possible for the corvette. The possibility of a rancor running down the corridors (in which it can't really fit) is just too silly.
So, for the greater good of the community as a whole pets in space are bad. This is not good for us entertainers though as we will be forced to use up passenger slots with band members and not party guests. But then again we are a tough lot and we are used to being dealt the bad hands.

Hey if some idiot wants to bring a rancor to the corvette so what? It is instanced so only affecting his group. They certainly bring them into caves. No I suspect the reason it isn't possible is because it was more work figuring out how to move them with the group and keep them from falling through the floor and drifting off into space.
Can you call a droid in the ship? I haven't tried but it should work like a house which means you have to go outside to call it.

You can call the droid, but you can't group it.
Personally, I think it's big letdown for musicians... I'm a dancer; I don't need my droid to be grouped for everyone to see it's effects. But I have a few friends (and my husband, Erleid/Erdeid above) who are musicians and cannot use their droids appropriately in space.

I'm a musician, I agree it is a big letdown. I also would like to see this fixed. I was just saying that I doubt the reason it doesn't work is because of pets on the vet and if that is the reason its a stupid one since that dungeon is instanced.

In thevette droids and pets are allowed and can be grouped, even if the only useful pet up there is the detonation mice, any other pet will last only a few sec against the sbds or the high lvl npcs,
Having musician too i think that the droid group issue in space is really gamebraking. I'm not be able to play western with droid support in my decimator!!!!
Please fix the droid grouping in space!!!

Even though I've yet to garner enough interest within myself to get JTL, I have to agree this is positively no-good. As tempting as the yacht is to me, it's much less so knowing I will likely have no one to play with up there, especially given the Tempestian small population.

Yupyup... what's the point of having a party yacht, if you can't form a decent party.
The server populations are thinning out so much that most places are really becoming ghost towns. It's almost impossible to find a full band anymore. Back in the day, I remember when the cities on Talus and Rori were hopping. They thinned out, then the outlying cities on the hub planets started to thin out, now even some of the major cities are becoming more like the original version of the Trilogy (before George added background extras to make the cities look more populated).
I can see the need for server merges, but that'll take a LOT of cooperation between Devs and players.
Until then, we need our playback droid to be grouped to be of any use. For a Musician to be able to put on a decent show on a yacht, we need to group our droid.
