Thread: Buff and heal times cut in half by the devs? So double the fatigue!

I'm currently in the process of remastering Musician as a combination of something to break of the tedium of combat as giving me an alternate output of XP to convert to FS XP once Phase III rolls back around. One thing I noticed in the last patch was that the time to heal has been drastically reduced, which I can imagine is a point of contention for Entertainers, Musicians, and Dancers. After all, the faster buffs do mean that we can buff more people in a faster amount of time, but it also means people are spending less time in the cantinas getting healed. Cuts down on the some of the social aspects of the games, from the opinion of a retired Master Musician, and even though we may not strike up a conversation with every patron who wanders into our cantina, the endless sea of faces is about to get more endless.

Maybe someone's thought about this already, but maybe as a counter to this we could ask that the devs increase the battle fatigue and mind wounds being done to characters. As a TKA, I can go out into the field and easily earn 600k unarmed XP on a single buff session, and yes, I'll have to visit the cantina when I'm done (I had a 400+ BF the other day after a 3-hour buff), but if the amount of BF I obtain were higher, I would be forced to visit the cantina sooner, particularly to counter mind wounds so I'm not just wasting my precious brandy and ahrisa. That would cut down on the time people spend in the cantina, but it would also raise the average number of visits by every combat class.

Interesting? Already suggested? Not practical?

maybe its just me but i was music buffing a guy the other day and as a master musician playing virtuoso and flourishing every 3 seconds it still took 3 minutes for a full buff, the person was kind enough to let me experiment on him and would logout then back after a few min to clear the old buff.

no flourishes in 2 min buff sessionresulted in 1.5 hrs

flourishes every 5 seconds in 2 min sessionresulted in 1.45hrs

flourishes at the 4 second mark seemed to be fine although i lowered them to 3 seconds just to be sure lol

I understood the flourishes stack and would go every four seconds so it made sense to me.

end results are I am using the same amount of time for a full music buff as I did prior to the patch.

maybe i'm doing something wrong lol

As far as emmersion goes it seems the people who wish to chatt will do so no matter what they have planned those people in a hurry for a buff and run right after dont usually say much anyways lol

Raising the bf wouldn't be a good thing from where i am sitting it just makes people who dont want to talk wait longer and why anger them lol

I always have to take a swig of Accarragm (or already be under the influence) before running this macro because it burns the action like crazy. I tell my customers that I am going into Turbo Mode when I run it.

I'm using the same buff macro I used before... I use a customized NON-recursive macro... before they shortened buff times, I had to run it 4 times. Now I only have to run it twice to get the full 2 hour buff.

This is the macro I use:

/Flo 2;

/Flo 1;

/Flo 1;

/Flo 1;

/pause 8;

/pause 8;

/Flo 2;

/Flo 1;

/Flo 1;

/Flo 1;

/Flo 1;

/pause 8;

/daz 2;

/echo Restart Macro;

Both the /daz 2 and the /echo lines are clues to me so I know when to restart my macro.

How many sets of five do you need for the full buff in 1 minute and 30 seoconds? I do five flo's then pause for 7 seconds. I'm trying to make my macro completely un recursive.

IN THEORY....

If times were cut exactly in half then all you need is 60 flos or ticks. Therefore if you can cram 51 flos into 90 seconds (9 ticks) then your buff should be good.

I still need to test the "Newly Revised Patent Pending Fragpuppie Uber 1:35 Quickbuff".

I'll post results when I get em.

My macro is about the longest I have been able to make without having anything cut off. I suppose you could just delete the dazzle and the echo lines and double the others and just run that.

You need to use pause 8 though because any less and some of the flourishes won't get done.

Okay, if you don't mind your patrons ears, using a lower lvl instrument, ideally a slitherhorn, or playing a lower lvl song, StarWars1 sounds great with a mandovial, can reduce you action cost considerably. The higher the instrument and song combo, the greater the action cost.

I like to use Western to give buffs myself.

I recently wrote a blues song for starwars3 (the bluesiest of our music IMO). It got me thinking that I am going to write a two minute song that uses buff quantity flos for the music. This way the person being buffed will be busy reading the words of the song and not realize the time has passed
