Thread: Frustrated Musician Leveling questions...

So, I'm grouped in Coronet and grinding away at 15 to 16 xp per flourish...
Then, the leader stops, we all stop, we start, and all of the sudden we're making in the 30's then 20's then back into the mid teens...
What the????
We're all playing StarWars1, I assume...
I'm flourishing once every 10 seconds...
I'm getting healing xp like nobody's business...
But, the musician xp should stay up shouldn't it????
Why can't I make 30-50 xp per...
I'm currently 0314 musician and it is slooooowwwww...
Should I get a droid? What do they do?
Should I do anything else???
I'm playing the best instrument I can... a kloohorn or something so...
Please help... This is frustrating but I like the profession...

XP has MANY different factors.
Playing your best instrument is KEY.
-0314 music is Traz. Kloo is box 4 in Entertainer.
-Be sure to get in the 2 flos every 10 seconds.
-Number performing in group is a big factor. Each additional performer is an addition 5% on the base XP. Note performing! If they are grouped but out of action not dancing or playing then there is no bonus.
-Number of listeners is also a bonus but if somone has a choice to play with the group or listen in, have them play.
There is a chart of the base XP buried in the forum somewhere. Actually there are 2. One is one flo ever tick, the other is doubled for 2 every 10.

Re: the variations...
-Looks like someone did a "/stopband and /startband". This will restart stopped players who have stopped due to action. However if their macros are bad they will stop again reducing the XP again. The blip up is when everyone is playing on restart.
-Flourish TWICE every 10 seconds.
-Droids will not help at all. Actually they take up a group member spot that could be someone performing and a 5% bouns. Droids to not add the bonus.
-Do not assume anything about song. Listen in. There are 2 points in which song level and XP will be higher than instrument. One is Ballad at MK1 (where you are), but if the group needs a lower song, that bonus will be higher than excluding many by playing ballad. Either that or find a nice group of only dancers to level with.
