They really need to fix THIS!

Musician missions SHOULD BE LABLED AS SUCH! If they can't do that, they should at least make it clear in the mission description!

Ok I know your complaint, but honestly I think it is the most honest mission I've ever seen. The dev team has spent our development budget elsewhere and now need you to go play at a hotel so when Tyrant comes by he can see they are being used.

Yeah, I'm pretty beside myself with the fact that they bothered to get in and tinker with our payouts, but didn't touch a single thing else with our missions.

Oh well, guess it's the ol' "Take the mission and hope for the best" thing.

1200 credits for 10 minutes is still junk, though. I think. Chicken feed.

I have a thought.....

Has anyone ever tried dancing for the missions that look like music or playing music for the supposed dance missions?

We know that for the Theatre manager quest that you can do either to collect entertainers.

Are the terminal missions generic?

Just wondering. I may have to check this out.

er... isn't the picture of the Nal a bit of a visual clue?

instrument = musician mission?

Unless the dancermissions have an instrument as well... which would be silly.

(Did anyone else mention this? I'm too lazy to read all the replies properly)

Actually, dancer missions do picture the Nalargon.

Heh... I didn't take this mission for the credit payout. I got it from a factioned NPC... and had deliberately gotten a second entertainer mission in the same location with the thought to doubling the credit payout. Once I went and bought a Slitherhorn and returned to complete the mission, the payout included 17 faction points... which is pretty decent faction point payout for a non-combat faction mission. I have been doing tests to see what options are possible for a factioned character who is "on leave" to earn faction points and this was one of the missions I was able to get and do.

This is exactly what I did do... I danced for a Musician Mission... and no, the missions you get from the terminals are not generic. If you dance for a Musician Mission or play for a Dancer Mission, the mission does not complete and you don't get payed. But at least when you get a mission from a terminal, you can choose which tab (Dancer or Musician) you get it from and can KNOW that you are doing the right thing even if the description is not specific.

P.S. One thing I noticed about the description of this specific mission that I thought was an improvement on the missions gotten from the terminals is that the "perform for 10 minutes" line actually looked like it belonged there. With the missions gotten from the terminals, that line looks like it was added as an afterthought with no care to fitting it into the mission description.

It sure is. Not only are Musician Missions listed as "Dancer" but Dancer Missions have a pic of a Nalargon. Usually, the description will have a clue, but this particular mission did not even do that... "Perform" could mean either profession.

I tried this when the changes went on TestCenter... on purpose... I swear... actually I did swear... until someone was kind enough to point out that you actually had to click on the Music tab to get a Music mission. So no, playing music for a dance mission will not complete the mission - even after 30 minutes of playing, flourishing, and doing effects.

Another way to sometimes tell between them (I can't access imagedump pictures, so I don't know how this mission read, exactly) is by looking at how they refer to gender. Most, if not all, Dance missions will make female references. The Music missions talk about men or are neutral.

That is really silly @_@

Hopefully the devs will get their heads out of the hole it has been in for however many years and do something >_<

Heh wow. I don't think I've ever seen one so totally nondescript. It's both gender and profession-neutral.
