Click a smiley (any smiley) and it will take you on a magical journey over to the Dance forums where I posted an idea for adding the dance ability to everyone in-game, while still maintaining the integrity of the Entertainment professions.
I thought initially that this idea wouldn't work for Musicians, because the Devs already handed out jukeboxes, so no one needs music for themselves anymore...they just go get a jukebox.
Of course, I also realized the Devs don't like putting valuable development time into Entertainer content, so I had to make sure each idea was virtually identical, just reskinned for each profession.
Here's the Basic Idea:
Western was a nice addition for us, however after two years of this game being live, are we really only deserving of one new song? I propose that multiple songs and/or instruments be added to Galaxies through additional post-master quests, combining the difficulty and variety found in the various parts of the theater quests combined with the content and depth of the Life Day quests.
What would happen is Musicians, upon reaching master, decide to improve themselves further by learning pop music from various bands and picking up skills with cultural instruments.
So, there could be a variety of NPC missions from the members of the various species which would eventually lead to the Master Musician qualifying on an instrument that species plays. A Musician could train with various bands from around the galaxy to pick up new songs--I always did want to learn from Max Reebo or Figrin D'an.
The missions, in order to be a little better than our current Theater missions, could still use the same basic idea, but the new skills would be learned in increments--songs one flourish at a time, stuff like that. All, of course, would be mixed with either species lore being told about the music/instruments, or stories and tips from the bands on how to perform well, or learning about the adventures of the band in an Imperial-censored galaxy.
