If that inspiration buff goes live as it is in concept...
I forsee many an entertainer dropping their skills for something else, or just flat out dropping their accounts.

Nobody has any clue, we've never heard one word from a Dev what our role will be.
No one will know until we can get to the elite professions, and right now we're stuck at novice.

Nothing, even if we can heal battle fatigue it generates so slowly that there will be little to none out there.

not alot of people reaching even novice musician/dancer so we wont know to that happens. there is no documentation that says entertainer buffs are staying or going, so if anyone claims to know that buffs are out the door, they are completely at a guess.

I beleive it was stated that we would still have of the "low power long duration" kind (opposite to the "high power shorter duration" other type of buff). But there hasnt been any official update about that issue as far as I know. Then again, its only the first stage of that beta, still a (not so) long month for devs to keep adding/changing/fixing stuff
Hope they will have a little thought for us useless non fighter weak professions

Maybe we should be asking about what kind of new buffs we could give now? What would most Ents want us to be buffing for others post CU?

Something that would be useful, but not required, similar to how Chefs were before the revamp. I'd say required, but then we'll just be overrun by bots again. Hmm...
I hate to steal a note directly from WoW, but I think the "rest" system could be adapted nicely to entertainers. Maybe the more time you spend being entertained, it would add something like 5-10% to your gained experience for the next good while. Either time based, like duration of three times the time you spend being entertained, or like 20k experience gained more quickly for each 10 minutes being entertained. Since we're having trouble getting healing xp post-CU, the extra 10% could be granted to the entertainer as EH xp similar to usage xp for crafted materials.
Out there, I know...but it was what came to mind.
It would help provide a need for entertainers on the run, as well, since we could come along and do it in camps as well. Not overpowering, and nothing that would be too pvp-dependent or anything like that. Just an extra bonus for sitting around rp'ing with your local Musician, and maybe even to take him out with you!

Copied from my post on that thread.

If the buffing ability is so transparent, why will patrons tip us? Please keep in mind that these are not "classes" in SWG, they are professions and should retain some measure of marketability. If I am functionally giving away my skills to everyone who walks in (and do not randomly hand out rude /denyservice), how do I make a living?
Would it be so difficult to give us a clone of the ID holo-emote interface, sans grouping? It is a menu that can not be macroed, has a box for tips, and lets you choose exactly which of the selections you will be supplying to the customer. Perhaps remove the non-functional wound healing line and replace it with "Inspiration." At master, you can grant all buffs simultaneously to give a reason to not dabble.

Everyone would like the Inspiration buffs...so I think more crafters and the like will be in the cantinas. I agree that there are some things that need to be ironed out.
1. How do we make money from this?
2. Are there other advantages for Masters other then the buff for the listener?
3.Can I inspire myself?
These are the few that come to me right away...I think as it sinks in there will be many more. But over all I think its great that EVERYONE will gain something from watching Entertainers...not just the combat types.
