Thread: Why do I need Inspiration buffs?

Hello again,

So inspiration buffs are supposed to give you the following benefits?

1) XP gain
2) Faction Point gain
3) Crafting Success

What if I am already master and don't need more exp and I have hit the faction point cap to?
What benefits will the Inspiration buffs give me?

None.

But then if you never hunt the Wound healing was of no use to you and Mind Buffs were of no use to you.

Seriously, the Inspiration Buffs are not bad concept at all. It's not meant as "THE" ability of the masters but as a little perk we can add those who need it.

So far no one knows what "THE" ability to actually replace current Mind Buffs will be.

I see.
So hopefully there will be something more then just Inspiration buffs.

Oh and XP gain is currently only for combat, weapon and medic XP.


There is no XP bonus for Scout, Entertainer, Crafting, Piloting or anything elso we've been able to see so far.


Nice of the Devs to be clear as to the benefits. They said XP gain! I think we should all bug the fact that we get no entertainer XP gain from being inspired. I mean bug it like they vote in Chicago. Bug early, bug often, bug even if you're dead.

Seems friggin logical to me that if a performer was INSPIRED they'd be giving a BETTER performance and thus we'd get MORE XP. But, hey, what do we know, right?


Because nerfing our xp gain was oh-so-important in the CU. And that 10% jump back up towards what we used to gain would utterly destroy the game, I mean - Entertainers would pwn all.

Flip that logic around, wook. We were given this XP Bonus Buff to encourage the most XP motivated (power gaming combat players) to interact with us. This is why we ask for interdependency all the time. We want those players to want our services. Allowing us to do something that is directly helpful to the power leveler mindset is a huge plus for us other buffing classes are drooling over right now.


Suggested why to handle this: Ask the Devs if maybe this same benefit could be turned on for all modes of XP gain, even though that wasn't the target audience, other levelers (Ents, Crafters, Scouts, Pilots, so on) might also find this buff to be a fun thing to seek out. This was the feedback I gave in the CU Forum because it honestly was fun for me to see that 10% XP bonus message for Combat and Medic XP. I honestly do think it would be fun to see it for other leveling as well.


I don't think the goal was to slow down our EH leveling any with the CU. This was just a side effect of the change they needed to make to Mind/Wounds because those aspects of combat weren't working right and weren't fun. The grouping thing really has nothing to do with us at all either, so any Music/Dance XP gain nerfs are again just a side effect.


Suggested way to handle this: Just ask that our XP requirements be lowered. I think if Eshie and Scip got these on their CU feedback lists, this would actually not be resisted. They might even be able to ask that it be done before we leave the CU testing phase and then if it needs to be readjusted after our new stuff is added, it can be then.
