I like the idea of the new type of buff, but the way you have it being applied is horrible.

- You get the same buff % from a Novice Entertainer as you do a Master Dancer/Musician, it just takes a little bit longer to get the full time limit.

I cannot express how horrible an idea this is. You have made it so buff bots can set up shop day 1 and not have to worry about leveling there character first if at all. You have taken away one a the few benefits it is to be a Master Entertainer Profession with this making the only point in going a Master Entertainer Profession for RP reasons.

- You no longer have to group with an entertainer to get a buff, you just have to listen to them for a set time.

Worst idea ever! You have made it so Real Entertainers can make no money unless they set up a buff house with an admittance fee. NO ONE is going to pay for a buff when all they have to do is go to Theed Cantina and watch the AFK entertainers, ungrouped, to get a buff. All this is gonna do is move all entertainers out of NPC Cantina into private cantinas where they can charge an admitance fee. All this is doing is making it easier for the buff bots because they won't have to create a /join, /disband macro.

- A buff is given the same way as before.

Great so AFK entertainers can still give a buff. Exactly what we asked for (/sarcasm off).

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the new buff, but the way it is given is horribly wrong and hurts Real Entertainers. All this implementing system is doing is incouraging AFK Entertaining. All it is gonna do is move the AFK Entertaining out of the NPC Cantinas into Player Cantinas where they can charge and admittance fee. NPC Cantinas will become vacant. Only future Real Entertainers are going to level up Entertainer because the Buff Bots will just need Novice to give there buffs, it will just take a little longer to give it. There will be a TON more buff bots than there are now.

Most people will think, "hmm, I can set up a buff bot for when I am not normally playing, all I have to is give up is 15 skill points for Novice Entertainer and even then I can just drop it and pick it up every night because you don't need any experience to get Novice, just a NPC trainer I can sit infront of my Buff House".

If this Buff system is implemented, it will kill the game for most Real Entertainers.

Best suggestion I can give is MAKE ENTERTAINER BUFFING A MINI GAME (like the way your doing slicing). Here is the best way I could see it emplimented:

- MUST be grouped. (Entertainers should have a choice who they do and don't buff.)

- After the Entertainer begins dancing/playing, they use a radial option or comand to "Begin Buff". From there the mini game starts. A system message will appear to the entertainer saying something like "The listener would like to see/hear Flourish 7" or something like that. Every few seconds, you will be asked to play a new flourish in random order (like a dice roll). You could also include effects into this Roll or make it so Effects will give you a bonus on that roll if you play/dance the right Flourish.

- When the entertainer begins a buff, a bar will appear above the persons head they are buffing. That bar will gradually fill each time the Entertainer does the correct flourish BUT, if the Entertainer does an incorrect Flourish, the bar will lose the same amount of filling it would have gained if it was done correctly (this will make it so someone who is AFKing will not be able to buff someone even if they try and spam All flourishes at one time because they would always get 7 incorrect flourishes and 1 correct flourish each roll so the bar will lose more filling than it will gain).

- The bar will take less time to fill as a Master Musician/Dancer than it will a Novice Entertainer to the point that if the Novice Entertainer has to hit every single Flourish Roll in a row or the bar will never fill until they get so many Flourish Rolls correct in a row. The amount of Flourish Rolls a Master Muscian/Dancer will need to make in a row will be considerably less. Also, it would take a Novice Entertainer CONSIDERABLY longer (like 5 times longer) to fill the buff bar than a Master Dancer/Musician.

This system will do what ALL Real Entertainers want. It will eleminate the AFK Buff Bots. Not only that, it will make buffing someone a little more fun as you have to play a mini game to do it.

Please think about this system. With the new system you are talking of implementing, your gonna kill the game for every Real Entertainer. It hard enough to get any respect now because of all the AFK Entertainers. If you implement this new system, it will be MUCH worse to the point anyone who is a Real Entertainer is either gonna quit the game or quit the Profession.

Must be grouped???

NO!! This is not good! Especially because groups are going to 8 people. I don't let Non-ents in my current performing groups just becuase I don't want them "stealing" buffs from other entertainers. The /setperform active buff works best for that. The mini game is a good idea...something so the Entertainers have to be active as well as the patron.

Sorry, I meant to put the /setperformance thing in there. Actually, you won't even need a group or /setperform with the system I said now that I think about it.

Since you have to click on the person to "Start Buff" or use a command to start buff, neither will be needed. And the Mini Game will prevent AFKer's from using this.

I agree, there has to be a way to ensure buffs are only given by ATK entertainers. It's a shame that a lot of players feel socializing is a burdenbut it's truly discouraging to see that the devs actually seem to support their behavior by allowing AFK play to continue. SWG was groundbreaking in terms of interdependency and social gameplay but these aspects of the game are fading out of existence, supported by unfortunate decisions made by the devs.

Theminigame mentioned above or any other mechanism to ensure ATK play (may it even be just a code to be entered like when redeedinga structure) would be greatly appreciated.Since your minigame idea is even providing some kind ofchallenge and immersion for the profession, I think it's a favorable way of handling the buffs and definitely something to be considered when discussing the issue further.

and your point is?

Devs already stated they love their zombies.

Rest of the gaming world does not call this game The Empire AFK without a reason.

On a side note... since every profession has it's own forum and Devs did 180 on their zombie stance, shouldn't zombies have their own forum?

Maybe their AFK corresponded could set up recursive post spamming every so often "I'm working so hard for you while I'm AFK, show your appreciation PLZ..."
