Ok after hearing this over and over and over, and not wanting to start a debate in the poll thread im making a new one specifically addressed to this statement.
" I cant find any live entertainers"
1. Typically this statement comes from people who go to the first cantina they see, dont find a live entertainer, and say i cant find one. Typically they expect to see us everywhere, which we are not. these are the same people that though willing to go to coronet for doc buffs wont consider going to a planet to get ent buffs, but expect us to be where they need us when they need us, otherwise its 'i cant find a live ent."
2. The reason you cant find one is because the bots are there in the first place. Though it is cyclical because less ents creates more bots. It should be noted that the bots came first. before the bots came, there was plenty of entertainers. Plenty of people who more than enjoyed the profession. get rid of the bots, you will see more entertainers come back to the profession because it will once again become a fun, and viable profession to play.
3. Though helpful, not obtaining a music buff all the time does not make the game unplayable for you. Having bots around makes our game near unplayable. Why should a convenience for you be more important than playability for musicians, dancers, and entertainer?
4. If you cannot find an entertainer, chances are your pvp enemies cannot either. If they happen to have one with their group that gives them an advantage just like if they had a legendary weapon. Legendary weapons are not always available but make the game so much more easy when you have them(sounds like ent buffs no?).
5. Entetainers are social by nature, it is the social professions after all. All you have to do is be nice to a couple of us, and you will soon have enough entertainer friends that you will always have one online on your friendslist. If you have none on your friendslist currently, when you go to a planet do a search for dancer, musician, and entertainer. Actively search us out, and befriend us. you search hours and hours for a weapon, why not for a constant buff source? Besides making friends in this game can only improve the game for you.
Im going to end it with a small story. i was sitting by a starport on yavin, not really doing anything just kinda hanging out, when I saw a guy run into the cantina and back out. he then yelled, "Geez, there is never an entertainer online!"
I /telled him and asked him what he needed, and he replied a buff. I then ran into the cantina and buffed him. During the buff session I asked if he had been to coronet to get doc buffed. He said yeah, so i asked him why he didnt look in the coronet cantina for ent buffs. He said, " cause I didnt think about it when i was there"
"Ok" i thought to myself, "so there is never any ents around..."
So then i asked if he had even done a planetary search on yavin to see if there was any musicians or dancers on the planet. He said, "search? whats that?"
So i proceeded to explain how to find people via the search.
The buff was finished, and he ran out. I never saw the guy again. I wasnt expecting a tip - i never am. I got a little friendly conversation, taught somebody something new - that was really enough for me. I never got a thank you either from this guy. I was more mad about that.
This is a typical situation. It isnt the only time I have had a similar conversation. Dont go saying there isnt any live ents out there as a reason to keep bots. It really is a sad excuse.

This has always reminded me of how my youngest brother used to sit on the edge of his bed every morning and yell, "I can't find my socks!". There were always socks where they were supposed to be. He just wanted someone else to open the drawer & hand them to him. Fortunately, he grew up (& suprisingly without me smothering him in his sleep).

whenever i'm in the cantina i always make it a point to /greet as many players that enter as possible. if i wanted to i could make a macro to say 'hi' for me but to actually interact with the players lets them know i'm ATK. when i'm in the cantina LOTS of players say after i /greet them "WOW! Its an ATK performer"

A very nice summary of the situation, which will chnge forever in a few weeks.
I completely agree with the timeline...Bots came and drove the live Entertainers away. I was the last long term master to finally give up on Coronet Cantina. Occasionally you'll see a new master play there for a few days or maybe a week before they give up and move on, but I kept it up until a few months ago. I had to leave, it was just getting too depressing. What was even worse than the bots was when a bot wasn't there and people wold spam "ANYONE BUFFING???". I'd respond (even though I was clearly ATK and had my master tag up) and would proceed to buff them. Then they would get pissed that I could only buff music. Ahh well, I wonder what awaits us in the post CU world of live. It looks like it'll be the same only worse.

I do that too. I try to greet/welcome/wave as many people walking in as I can. Whether it's because of all the spam in the cantina or whether they missed it or whether they just don't care, I get few who actually acknowledge that they've been greeted. /shrug
As long as I'm in the cantina, I'll continue to greet people as they walk in. Well except for the next few days. I'm working on getting theatrical2 and first you have to get theatrical dance xp. And since I don't like dancing around the entire cantina I'm doing in an alcove. So it makes it difficult to see people to greet them.

I had the problem that I couldn't find any live ents a while ago. I solved this problem by: asking. And boy, did I ever solve it!
My very first post on the dancer forum was something like - where are all the live ents? Do you have a secret hang out? I've never had a problem finding a live dancer or musician since.

Uh-oh...growing up doesn't necessarily solve the problem!! Hubby continues to leave his cellphone/wallet/keys all over heck-went-and-gone...and if I don't round 'em up, it's fifteen minutes of 'Where's my cellphone/wallet/keys???'
And does he appreciate the honest/exasperated 'Where you left them!' Nooooo...
