Okay...I logged into TC5 where my Entertainer/Brawler from Chimaera was copied. I started playing music (flourishing regularly, twice every ten seconds or so)in the Bestine Cantina. I buffed myself. I got no experience. I couldn't figure out how to move very well.
Can anyone tell me, in terms a frustrated blonde can understand, what the heck is up? Is there a guide somewhere on the changes to movement? If I have to move via a combination of mouselook and keyboard, I'll go insane.

It's pretty easy to open options, and under controls you can reset your keymap back to the one you're used to.
I don't even bother remembering what they name them, but its apparent enough, though frustrating they try to
force everyone into their new "modeless" system without so much as a tutorial.

The keymap you want is Star Wars Galaxies, Tarot.
Also, you probably thought you weren't getting xp, but you were. You have to look in the Combat window or something.
I had that issue with thinking I wasn't gaining xp, then noticed I was getting it, just in a different window. Hope that helps.

The keymap is different there, and like Warryyr said, the xp shows up in the combat spam now.
BTW, I *think* that the keymap setting changing is just something from TestCenter, and shouldn't change on your live characters when it gets put on Live this week.

I wouldn't lay money on that one Scip.
Its bad enough that all new players who need help are not going to be in the same keymap as us, but the first thing anyone helping them will do is change the keymap to "Star Wars Galaxies". I'm wondering if tech support will help anyone in the old keymap after the CU.

They could AT LEAST get rid of the guiding voice in the space station...

It's a great idea, but it's so outdated now.

Well,if you'rea complete newbie who doesn't have the slightest clue how to do anything, it's not as if the tutorial and very first impression of the game is in any way relevant for the rest of your gaming experience.
Oh, wait.
I guess it is.
