Hello

Now I'd like to start off by saying that I am not a entertainer anymore, but I was wondering if any one had any ideas to get people to play in theatres and Hotels more often. The space is much nicer, and I would love to see a show at one of these locations. The only thought I had was to have some sort of board in town that told you where the entertainers were playing.... any helpful suggestions?

Unfortunately, the only way to get entertainers perform in the theaters and hotels is to have audiences go there. But the only way an audience is going to show up is if there's entertainers performing. The cantina has become the default gathering place for mind/BF healing, and I don't think there's going to be much that can be done about it now.

A couple enhancements could help, though.

First, allow /register in hotels (it already works in theaters), and combine cantinas, hotels and theaters in one category on the planetary map (maybe "Entertainment Venues").

Second, make the /listen and /watch range longer in the theater. It's a wonderful stage, and the seats are nice, but if you're not in the first row or two, you're too far away to get the healing.

Third, give the hotels and theaters some distinguishing features. Maybe the theater heals your wounds and BF at a double rate, but only if there's a group of five or more entertainers, or at least two elite entertainers (dancer/musician). IIRC, droid medical modules are usable in the hotel (the cantina disables them, so doctors can't heal or tend wounds).

I would love to play the Theatre's more.

The healing range idea in Theatres is a great idea.

Theatres look great and they have a nice big stage for the dances that need space, formal / lyrical, but the only times I've been in there was when I needed a dance instructor...

This doesn't work all the time....

I like to play on the Nala outside the starport in Coronet. Sometimes people will start asking you to go to the cantina to buff them and/or heal their mind. Most people will just go watch the AFKs in the cantina, but sometimes they want a buff or they actually care if the entertainer is "there."

Just target them and /shake, then say "follow me everyone!" and run to the theatre. It does work to get a few in there for a little while... but you won't draw huge crowds for extended periods of time that way.

Maybe set up an event, post about it on your server board, and get a lot of people there...then announce that you'll be playing there daily or something. /shrug
