How about they build a small new system for musicians. Say were in a cantina with 20 people playing music, but we can only play sw1 or 2 because most people cant play beter music. So how about this. somebody with a higher skill level could start a song and everybody could play it with us. BUT they people who dont qualify for the song cant START the song. For example, a master musician could join a band with people playing starwars 1. he could stop the song and start virturoso. But theres a catch. the people who cannot play the song yet will not get any extra xp for playing a higher level song, that way we wont play virtuoso all day either.

I think this is a great idea and we wont have to play starwars 1 all day in the cantina, which im sick of.

Thanks for your post. FWIW, proposals like this actually made it into our top-five list when I did my first poll of Musicians a couple months ago. But now I hear about it much less often, probably because Musicians as a whole are more highly-skilled now than they were then, and because other priorities (AFK-macroing, our buff, gig missions) have emerged.

Anyway, the devs have heard proposals like this, and so far they don't seem inclined to act on them, although here I'm just speculating. My guess is that they think it would dilute one's sense of accomplishment to allow a newb to join in a band playing Virtuoso.

Stop your whining. Just play until you can play different songs, then it is a friggen achievment to be able to play the better songs. If we could all play the music, just not start it, there wouldn't be any sense of accomplishment. And put some **edit** clothes on you freak. *stare*

I can barely solo a tiny rabbit with my architect. When i got out with my guild (I like to harvest hides) do we kil bunny rabbits because im in the group and thats the best thing I can kill? No we kill what the best people in the group can handle, and the rest of us try to assist..

Same thing with songs maybe? If you are grouped with someone higher, you shouldnt be limited to only your songs.. let the higher skilled help you along and play a new song, just asi let the better skilled fighters help me along and we kill big stuff...
