Thread: Significance of the visual music notes
Can someone explain to me what the significance of the single or double notes are when you play music ?
I noticed that my notes went from single to double around the time I learned Music Fatigue Healing 2 combined with Master Entertainer, so I assumed it had to do with my healing skills but last night I played with a Master Musician and she had single notes and said she could only see single notes coming from me. First we thought it had to do with amount of flourishes, mine never end, so I tried that but I still kept getting double notes doing a flourish every minute so that wasn't it.
Is there any significance to this at all ? Do others see the double notes or am I the only one that sees this and it doesn't mean anything ?
Thanks for any insight into this
I noticed this also in the past.
I think it has to do with the flourish you are performing. I noticed that the notes that appear are the same as the flourish icon.
But that may have changed since I noticed it a few months ago.

No, this isn't it and it's not instrument related either, I learned to play the bandfill last night and tried each flourish on my two highest songs there's no difference in the visual notes there.
I repeat myself, it switched from single notes to double notes when I learned fatigue 2 combined with master entertainer.
Perhaps our correspondent can ask the Dev if this has any purpose ?

It's a fair question, and I will ask right away. Can't promise a quick answer on a Friday night, though. ![]()
FWIW, the devs did tinker with the note graphics just before release. As I recall, players in beta complained that the notes hurt their PC's performance, so the devs toned 'em down (so to speak
). At least I think they did. Anyway, I'll ask about it. And, of course, casually ask when we can expect new songs, too. ![]()

Thanks sweety, I'm still very curious what the significance is / was / will be
Oh, about new songs...Don't implement them too fast, LOL, I only learned Waltz last night and had just one opportunity to play it together with a master for 4 minutes waiting for the shuttle, heh
I'll let you know if and when I get an answer to your question about notes.

Trust me, in a month or two you'll be begging me to pester the devs about them again. Our existing songs are great, but you can only listen to ten songs so many times. ![]()
The devs have answered your question, and the answer is rather interesting. Here it is:
The notes are just a graphical representation of how you are playing. They don't explicitly do anything, though sometimes they do reflect how well you are doing. ![]()
You should see variations in the note particles for more advanced Musicians as wells as dynamic variations based on your flourishes.

That's good to know, so I'm doing a good performance if I only get double notes, heh, I wonder if I'll get triple notes this weekend when I can learn Knowledge 4, Fatigue healing 3 and (hopefully) techniques 2
Thank you both for explaining this *hugs*
