The best way is to not be AFK, and just say who the leader is. Then you don't have to deal with the macro command.

Now, now. While a valid solution, you deny him a way to let his guildmates learn valuable information.
The real best way to do this is to create a new macro and write the following 3 lines:
/gu The leader of the band in Theed is LeaderNameHere;
/gu Heal me plz. Tips are appreciated.;
/pause 60;
Then you must manually copy those lines say 200 times in the macro, depending on how long you will be away and leave it running while you are away.
If all goes well, you will be providing valuable information to your guild on a regular basis and have been booted out of said guild by the time you get back to the keyboard.

I really think the line
/b 1
Should be added to that short script, doesn't matter where. But it would be most effectif the the pause time were low, like 0 as perviously stated. That should do the trick.

Thank you for the help. But I was hoping to have my guy say it in spatial and there is a way tomacro it even if they change group leader. I just can't figure out the command to announce the current GL.

Perhaps its one of the variable text things like %NT. I'm not really sure.

Not sure exactly what the command is, but there isa /command that targets the current leader of the band (groupmember 1). Then you type "/say The leader of the band is %TT "which will fill in your targets name instead of %TT.

I'm not sure if there's a slash-command, but you can hit CTRL-2 to target the leader. In the same manner, CTRL-3 through CTRL-9 will select other members of your group (in the order that they appear in your list). That's why CTRL-1 targets yourself; you're always the first person listed in the group you're in.
