I had a few thoughts the problem of entertainers sticking to a few cantinas and their general lack of credits.

At the moment many cantinas, especially at quieter times are empty and the entertainers that are online at those timesare forced to run delivery missions for credits.

Why not impliment a mission system used from the main terminals and NPCs that ask an entertainer to perform at a certain location. This would spawn an NPC in the said cantina, the entertainer travels there and performs while having the NPC tageted.

This would have several effects.

It should give entertainers more of a feeling of actually living as a musician/dancer.

It would spread them out a little more than mainly Mos Eisley.

It would populate the cantinas with more NPCs.

It would get entertainers away from so many delivery missions.

As entertainers get higher level special places could open for them to dance/play in such as Jabbas palace where they either get a nice reward or fed to the Rancor.

(we cant kill the Tusken raider to get in at the moment and Jabba did like his entertainers after all)

Please let me know what you think of this idea.

I've heard that they already have a system like that in place. I haven't tried it, but apparently the musician trainer can give you "gigs" where they have you go to a location and perform. You get credits for doing it.

I might have to try it out to force me to learn a bit of the world around me. In three nights of playing I haven't even gone outside the city gate! hehe

I've never actually done one, cause i have no idea where it is... and if it is the Musician trainer who gives them out, i guess we have to be full-fledged musicians to get them.

I got a gig the other night. A thug in the back room at the Lucky Despot cantina in Mos Eisley sent me to another city to perform at the cantina there. I picked up a delivery mission to pay the bus fare, shuttled over and joined the band there. A little while later we all got a mission cash reward. (About 100c each and there were 4 of us.) My only problem now is that the thugs only want to give me dancing missions, and I can't dance.

I ran around in Bestine last night looking for a musician trainer to get a gig from, but didn't see one. Either I missed him, or Bestine doesn't have one.

Anyone know where the nearest NPC is from Bestine?

Gig missions require you to travel to another city, and the pay stinks (less than a comparable delivery mission for far more work). ~500 credits, minus travel expenses? Not worth it.

What they SHOULD be is a renewable mission given by the NPC bartender inside the cantina in question. Walk up to the bartender, get the mission, and for 15 minutes of playing you earn 300 credits. Once you get paid, head back over to him again for a new one. Maybe add several different durations, so you can take a 30-minute mission for 800 credits or a 1-hour mission for 2000 credits. Better yet, the pay scale would depend on your skill level/song/instrument (which is actually how it works now; the gig mission specifically requires a set number of XP, and since you earn XP faster at higher level you finish them more quickly).

That, right there, would solve a lot of our money issues.

All the gig missions I've done are within the same city.. here is how...

Visit the Guild Theater in your city, go backstage -- you'll see a a Dancer Trainer with a Noble and a Musician Trainer with a Noble.. talk to the Noble near the trainer for the type of gig you'd like to do.

If you're a musician, the Noble will give you a waypoint to a Hotel or Cantina in that city, go inside and play 5-10 mins. Credits deposited into your account. My gigs have been 500-600 credits a pop.

I have come to find in this game that with a little exploration and time you will find out things that didn't seem possible. If you stick to the regular things..like only hanging out in your cantina and traveling to from shuttle port and bank, your not seeing everything that is offered. Go into the hotels, go into the guild halls. Talk to every NPC that you see. You will often find something you were looking for.
