Thread: Suggestion for Exp Problem...

At the moment there is a certian unbalancment with the Musician (Entertainer) class. Everyone has to play the same song when in a group. While this is a GOOD idea so when people listen we sound good, it also unbalances our EXP gain. Example:

I have Musician 3, I know Starwars2 and so do 2 other people in the band. But 3 others only know Starwars1, either we lower the song to Starwars1 and get lower Exp (Not to mention listen to a song that we have played for HOURS to learn the higher songs) or we kick the 3 'Noobies' from the band, most likly have 2 Bands playing at once in one Cantina, AND get less exp again for losing band members.

I hope that was a accurate picture of whats wrong. Here is my suggestion for a solution:

Make it so higher instruments OR higher Songs give more/better Musician exp, instead of just the song. Example:

Everyone can play Folk, so we all play folk. BUT people can use different instruments and we all get good/same EXP according the the skill level of the Folk Song, (This way we are not all forced to play the same instrument to get maximum exp). A exception to this would be if there was someone whocould play a instrument higher on the Skill tree than the Folk song is, they would get exp according to their skill level.

2 Noobie Entertainers walk in and want to join, but of course they can only play Starwars1. You let them join and we all start playing Starwars1. Now because the higher skilled musicians want more exp than this song can give, all they have to do is play with their highest level instrument to get the exp according to their skill level.

In summery, my idea is this: Musicians gain exp according to the HIGHEST skill level instrument OR song they are currently playing. (And of course exp is effected by the number of people in the band as normal too).

Forgive me if this is the case already, or if someone else has come up with this idea before.

Yep. Just use the highest instrument you can play and you will get the max xp on any song you can play.

Play the highest song you can play with a slitherhorn, and you will still get the max xp too.

I was playing SW3 with a Kloo and getting about 20 xp per tick without a group or anyone watching me. A newbie wanted to join with Rock, so I went down and continued to use the Kloo. Still got the 20 xp per tick.

Good idea, but it is this way already. Play a starwars1 with a Kloo, and you'll get the same experience as playing starwars3.
