So Sorry if this has been asked many times, I am kinda tired (After long playing) to searchfor the correct thread.

I am a Novice and when I perform I only get like2 XP per flourish, and 4 XP per consecutive ones. So I think that's kinda slow, Any thingI can do get more than 2-4 XP per flourish and consecutive flourish?

Or is that way it's meant to be?

You must start off slow and steady. In time as your skill advances, so will your exp gain. if you are only a novice, be patient. Mos Eisley wasn't built in a day.

You've pretty much summed up the basic xp accumulation for a novice entertainer. Some things that improve it:

1) Grouping with other people. I've found that this gives 1-2 extra per additional musician. More dancers doesn't seem to help us. The only hurdle you'll find is that some musicians don't want to "drop down" their song, since higher level songs gain them more exp. Which brings us to:

2) Play the highest song you can. Or use the highest instrument you can. The base xp is determined by the higher of the song level or instrument level. So at musician 3 you get the ability play a fanfarr and the song Folk. If you play StarWars1 (the 0 level novice song) with a fanfarr, you gain experience the same as if you were playing Folk. If you pass this information along to the higher-level musicians, it may appease their idea that they're "losing" xp by not playing their highest song. But StarWars1 will still annoy you after enough repetitions.

3) Get an audience. Additional people watching your group also adds to the xp you get.

4) Get audience appreciation emotes. Whenever someone watching you claps, cheers, or applauds(I'm not sure if it has to be targetted or not), you get a quick boost toyour xp.

Now, there may be a cap or other limiting factor to1 and 3, but I haven't done the numbers closely enough. I was in a *huge* group earlier that had 6 other musicians, 7 or 8 dancers, and about 7 people watching. I was making 50+ exp per tick playing Folk. Of course, I'm going for Musical Knowlege 1, which requires 87500, so relative to the 1000 you need for Musicianship 1, I was actually worse off.

Good luck, and welcome to what I consider the most fun profession in SWG.

One thing that can increase your xp, is if you do the flourishes at almost the same time, Example as abutton as: Flourish 7, and Flourish 8 on diff buttons but press them at the same time that should dbl your xp.

The way I got from novice entertainer to Music I was by making slitherhorns. Metal was very abundant where I was, and I got like 100 xp per horn that I made. If you mine the metal yourself, you can save a lot of money and then actually sell them for a reasonable price (unfortunately they are usually priced below what it would cost to make one if you buy the materials, which is generally 10c per unit of metal). Check the bazzar in your area to see what the going rate is. I am lucky in my area, no one else seems to bother making instruments, especially slithers, so I sell a ton of them to people just picking up music for fun.

I've never gotten a system message saying I earned XP for making any instrument.

It's like any other crafting xp, you don't get a message saying you got it, it just shows up.

I actually just ran into this last night. I'm doing Musician/Artisan, andwas crafting up some instruments for some fellow musicians. I got curious how much xp the crafting of the instrument was getting me (if any) so I checked my listings before and after making a kloo horn. Well, there wasn't an increase in General Crafting, but lo and behold, I had recieved about 120 Musician experience.

So another way to get music XP faster is to maximize your time. Play until your action wears out, sit down and craft instruments until it's back up, lather, rinse, repeat. If you have two (or three) item crafting tools, you can cycle through them, and have no downtime waiting for the prototype to show up in the output hopper.
