Thread: Any way to auto-acknowledge tips?

Is there a way with macros or something to ackowledge tip messages with a "thanks [player]" message or something like that?

I'm worried that I am missing tip messages in the scrolling information overload. I'm going to change the tip message color (I heard you could do that), but an auto response would be nice.

Not sure about an auto macro but if you put this in a macro:

Thanks %TT

Target the player and hit your macro. It will cause you to say "Thanks (Player Name)"

Make sure you have the TT capitalized or it won't work.

Once you have your text color changed, it should be easy to find the player who tipped you.

My personal feeling is there should not be a way to auto-acknowledge tips, that would encourage those who don't work at being an entertainer as a skill, and it really is Yes there is a lot going on so it would be easy to miss one, do the colourisation thing and you will see it makes all the difference. You may also want to colourise your name incase it comes up and you miss it. Set up a separate tab if you have not already to make it easier to find those colourised tip messages. Make sure you do one for bank tips too

Ok, I'll see how the color deal goes. The text I need to flag is "tips you," right? What is the bank tip text I need to flag?

If I recall I have 'bank credits' as the colourisation sentence for tips directly into the bank.

Tried out the color option last night, and it really helps. Thanks for the pointers!

How do I set up a separate tab?

Chuckchippie,

Just right click on the tabs at the top of the chat box, you'll see a dialog that lets you customize all kinds of things and even make new tabs.

You can also click and drag the tabs off of the chat box to make separate windows.

Yes i know but I don't see any option under "modify tab" to only put in colorized sentences or something.

No I know but how do I make a tab that only makes the tip messages come up in it?

Oh sorry I misunderstood what you were asking.

Hit ctrl+o(default) or go to the options screen. You'll see a button for chat, click on it and you can colorize words or sentences there.

I don't think you can have a tab with only tip messages, but you can have a tab with only 'system' messages -- basically tips and XP spam. Then colorize your tip messages in the chat color tab of CTL-O.

Me, I'm just using colorized tip messages; works like a charm. I've also colorized medic heals so that I can acknowledge those too.
