I have grown aware of the lack of Mando's on my server and I am one of only three that I know of Master Entertainers on Naboo. I have spoke with people that have traveled to other planets and they have not seen them being sold at all.

If anyone out there on Bloodfin has one you can sell me please let me know.

Also is this a common trend on the other servers? Is this instrument worth playing? How is the xp compared to say a kloo?

Please let me know.

I've found that there quite a few master entertainers, but usually they do not play the mandoviol often. (they are already higher up in the tree playing higher instruments) For me, I got novice musician before I did ME and was able to play the Traz. It gives the same xp as the mando. But once I got ME I played the Mando quite a bit. Its a great sound and really gives the songs something unique, much like the bandfill/ommni box.

Since the mando is a skill box above Music IV, you get morexp with it than you would the kloo. Also, the song is very good, the best one in my opinion, and I am at music knowledge 3. If you can get a troupe of ME's playing that song with all the different instruments....its astounding.

As far as selling of instruments...there are more of the low lvl instruments than the high lvl. Not many are selling the higher instruments at all. Not sure why. I think entertainers are more into playing and helping others than trying to make money off of instruments like, say, a crafter would try to make money. Just as a higher lvl musician to make you one. They may just give it to you for free.

Well, on my server (Wanderhome), I'm the first have been making any of the advanced instruments. (I beleive I'm also the highest musician currently...man does it hurt in training fees....)

I can answer you why people might not be making the higher lvl instruments:

1) Many entertainers are unlike me...I'm hoping to do architect...so, I worked on survey. I surveyed the stuff for my first fizz, then the sales from the fizz/missions allowed me to buy more resources to make the kloo and fanfars when I got to them. For about 4 days, I sold them from 2.5-3k. (Namely due to the time put into GETTING there...the fact that I was first...and well...NO ONE needed higher instruments yet...) The original plan I made with other musicians was that this would fund my training, since I was the highest, and would allow me to then DOWN the prices on the fanfars etc when I got higher. I planned on scaling fanfar to 1000, kloo to 1250 or 1.5.

Then...other Novice musicians showed up. Some followed the general rule of: Price similarly. The market isn't terribly huge like it would be for weapons...and our instruments *NEVER* decay. They undercut me by over 2/3's. Of course...most of these also used my instruments to gain their skill...and were trained by me or my students.

Now I can make trazs and mandiviols. They haven't sold hugely yet, I beleive their are two other masters next to me....both of who are in my band more and more.I'm now on my way to being able to make bandfills...and should get it when I can play bandfills. The problem is...not many will take it that far it seems. Therefore, my profits will not really be high...so it doesn't really make much sense to invest too much in making the instruments after a while. The only way I really made a lot of cash for training was the above sales...but now, many of those have dried up...even selling at the reduced prices. (Hell, coronet gained a LARGE number of entertainers due to me centering my sales there....) Tips are also pretty pathetic in comparision to what I could make running straight deliveries even...and the gig missions would be cool...if explained a bit better (and debugged). (Yeah, I've read the faqs...but guess what...they still don't always work...and even nobles next to musiciansgive mostly dance on my server...dance to me = useless.) Not to mention its a ROYAL pain to sift through the missions IMHO.

As for the sound...I simply love the Mandi. Starwars1 never sounded so good.

Claire, send a tell to Logar on Bloodfin, he's a good guy and he should be able to help you out. He is usually on Corellia. It would be even better if you could bring him the resources to make one.

Open question: what resources does it take to make a mandoviol?
