here's a gnoobie question for ya ... the char builder at allakhazam shows that you only need Music IV to advance to Novice Musician, but the char builder at beafraid.com shows that you need Music IV and Entertainment Healing IV .. which is it?

Kind of a moot point, since you'll get Healing 4 without even trying way before you get Music 4. At least, if you play in cantinas and not out in the field.

I've got tons of healing points saved up for when I bust through the Novice box.

In the Skills screen it appears that you need both.

I am just on the edge of getting Novice Musician, and I already have Heal 4 and Music 4.

My question is: do you have to get the Novice Musician skill from a NPC trainer (like you do with the starting skills) or can a player train you?

You must have both trees to advance to musician.
Entertainment healing is very easy to cap, I hit novice last night and got trained in muscian wound healing I and I still have 50k of it left over.

As far as getting novice musician, yes you have to buy it from an NPC musician trainer. It costs 5,000 creds, so be sure to bring some cash.

The trainers usually hang out in a theater, but you see one hanging around other places every once in awhile.

Oh, so I'll need to be trained not from more advanced players, but from a trainer to get novice? Good thing to know. I have the cash for that, but just barely, and was about to give it up to my future PA to get set up.

Well, the idea is to give all three entertainer branches a special incentive to pursue Master Entertainer. I don't think that's such a bad idea.

But I do regret that one of our very best instruments is at Master Entertainer. I wouldn't mind skipping it so much if it were just a kloo or a traz.

I've seen several people basically asking the same thing about Entertainment Healing. Maybe complaing that they've capped the experience in that skill and can't get any more until they hit Novice Musician.They say that all the Ent. Healing experience that they're getting since they've capped Ent. Healing is "going to waste".I didn't care that it was when I was in the same situation. I just concentrated on getting as much Musicianship exp to finish Musicianship IV and to get Novice Musician.
