I have a post in the SWG General section (since the devs seem to read that one) requesting a "Deny Services" function for entertainers to use on rude/abusive players. It can be found at:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=30090

Please help bring this to the dev's attention.

There IS a Deny Services option. It's only available in a Player-run Cantina. It's called /kick - you kick the rude person out, and ban him from entering.

It is extremely silly to be able to tell people that these 4 people standing in front of me can hear me, this fifth person is not. If there is a street performer playing outside, I can stand there and enjoy his music whether he wants me to or not as long as he continues playing.

If you want to deny people service, you can only do so in a privately owned business, NOT in a public building such as a Cantina in your favorite starting city.

I have this sort of suggestion up already as a poll. If they want to be rude/abusive/nonpaying/superior they can do it elsewhere, however when the cantinas empty and they are going for the record of highest amount of BF....

i dont think this is a silly idea at all. its certainly no sillier than an /ignore command that magically lets you selectively hear people even if they are yelling in your ear. a /musicban or /danceban command is worth considering.

Do it from the other route. Make it so the musician has to select the person their healing effects, like a medic.

No target, no healing.

Let anyone listen, just don't allow that to heal on it's own.

I agree. Musicians will never be taken seriously when all you have to do to get healed is run into any cantina with more than one person in it sit in the corner listen or watch and then leave. A musican who is trying to make a living needs to be able to direct there services to paying customers. Anyone can listen only selected targets get the good healing effects. Otherwise it should be like medic building slow mental healing effect just listening fast effects for personal (and tipped) attention.

P.S. Where is the combat musician class. Leading troops into battle with a fizz and drum. I'm only half kinding.

I am starting to think this is a good idea....

last night we and my Wookiee band had a couple of hecklers, who apparently did not appreciate the fact that we were in fact doing a them a service. Being proud Wookiees, one of my band challenged one of the hecklers to a duel, despite his alarmingly low action pool. He was promptly incap'd and slain. He's a big boy and didnt complain, none of us did, he asked for the duel. But it just sort of galls me that we actually HELPED those jerks out....

Do what I do, have everyone stop (sometimes it is possible) and loudly let everyone know that the music/dancing will only continue one the said person leaves. Sooner or later, everyone will be trying to keep them out of the cantina.

What Tamboran said...

In the meantime you can use /addignore... unless you want to powertrip on everyone that bothers you, but then they will only stay longer, I promise.

perfect. Nothin makes people turn onsomeone elsequicker like being punished for that persons actions. The military knows this, and uses it to its advantage. You wanna stop holding those bricks out? Then make sure hardnose understands not to do this again. Punish all for 1's actions and that 1 will quickly appologize or leave when others harrass him.

Only problem is everyoen wants xp, but if they're friends of yorus they'll stop to make sure that you're alright.
