A friend emailed me her SW2 macro so that we could be insinc when we played together and still get XP. She uses a 4 second pause on it. After several try, we discovered that I have to use an 8 second pause. We tried that on other macros and I basically have to double the pause length she uses. She uses a 5 second pause for rock and I had to bump it up to 10.

This leads us to believe that the pause ratio needed is based on your computer. She has an Athlon 2000 XP while I have two Athlon 2000 MPs in mine. We both have Gf4 4600Ti and a SB Live, though I think hers may be the regular live and mine is a 5.1+. I am not too sure about that.

I also found that I can copy my macros that I created and paste tham in notepad. Go into replace and type in pause 4 in find and pause 8 in replace and have it automatically replace them all. I then copy it from notepad and pase it over my old macro in SWG. You must have the CTR C and CTR V commands in SWG changed to chat copy and paste.

I recently upgraded my computer, and I do 2 flourishes followed by a /pause 10;
It works fine on both machines.

A week ago perhaps, my macro timer did get screwed up. The timer parameter seemed to go from seconds to 1/6 of a second. To get a 10 second pause I needed /pause 60.
I bugged it, and a CSR got back to me saying they would look into it. The next time I logged in it was ok. The funny thing was that I was playing for a few hours with the 10 second macro working fine when suddenly without changing anything on my side, the timer parameter changed.

I've noticed this while fiddling with chat windows/channel assignments. Not sure why it would have this effect, but if I didn't have the chat windows set up as they are by default (ie. trying to pipe system messages to a separate window), the macros would run double-time.

Only double time?? Wow, lucky you. Mine fluctuates from triple time to quadruple time on a random and frustrating basis.

Anyone have any idea what timetable this is on to be fixed? I have heard elsewhere it has to do with moving the chat windows around but I like my combat window to be seperate.

I do not use macros at all anymore, but when I first tried it, I had a pause of 5 seconds. In actuallity the pause between them was about 2 seconds.

Best way to is to just experiment with different numbers.

Even in Beta I found /pause 20 would give me a 10 second pause. Others have told me they use /pause 10 for a 10 second pause. So, there is clearly a client side connection to the /pause timer. I'm not sure what affects it, but it's simple enough to test it by setting up simple macros and turning on Timestamp in your chat windows to determine what works best for you.

Pause is bugged when a chat window is undocked and system messages are sent to it. If you want it to work correctly, don't undock any windows that have system messages sent to them.

Thanks for the workaround. This has been driving me nuts.

I have also noticed /pause irregularities with nested macros.

This has fixed my /pause delays too, but at the cost of much less flexibility in my display. Now I find myself back to regularly missing what people say in the spam of

You perform a flourish.
You perform a flourish
You receive 14 points of Entertainer Healing XP.
You receive 43 points of Entertainer Healing XP.
You receive 22 points of Entertainer Healing XP.
You receive 32 points of Musician XP.

Now, what did that person say three lines back? Wait another ten seconds, and another six lines scroll on by. Sigh. Hey, NewJedi, there's an issue for you, the fixing of /pause!
