Thread: I've been thinking.....
I currently play a pistoleer/CH on Bloodfin and I like my character, but I picked up the slitherhorn to do some healing when there wasn't any entertainers around, and I find myself really liking it. I've been thinking about starting a character on the Test Server and trying to get to Master Musician. So...
1.) What server do you think I should start this character on? I'd prefer to play on a server that has some role players on it but also has a lot of other musicians so I can do some gigs with other musicians.
2.) Do most entertainers mind playing basic songs so that noobie entertainers can join in on the fun? I don't mind playing solos the entire time, but I think that it would be more fun to play with other people. I just don't want to have to wait until I get at a higher level.
3.) How do I get instruments other than the slitherhorn? In the combat professions we qualify for different weapons and then find a Weaponsmith to make us a new gun. Is there an Instrumentsmith? Or do the artisans craft them?
Thanks for everyone who has read this, and thanks in advance for all the good advice that everyone will give. I've read a couple of posts on this board so far and I think that you people are all pretty cool!
Hey!
Glad to see there's more aspiring musicians out there. ![]()
As for your questions..
1.) I play on the Naritus server, I havent seen alot of roleplayers on it, to be quite honest - i cant say i've seen a single one so far. It's a nice server though, and depending on which city you start in there's quite a few musicians there. /wave Drannaal, Eris, Grunjin etc
2.) It's hard to say, some people go absolutely bonkers when they hear someone even say Starwars1, but we try to accomodate most if not all the newbies in Coronet City so we can play together. If we've just switched to Starwars2 or something after having played Starwars1 for an hour or so already, we might be a wee bit hesitant to switch back though, hehe ![]()
3.) You get the sketches to create instruments as you level, not at the same level you can use them though mind you. You'll have to have a musician a couple levels above you craft them for you. I dont charge anything for the service of putting them together, i just ask that people bring me the materials. If they're a real newbie without any money though, i'll usually just put together a instrument anyway, hehe.
Good luck with your selection of server and I hope that you will enjoy your musician character as much as I am ![]()
no i'm just kidding, but come to Chilastra and work up a musician to join my band Eternal Heart. We are making a PA Hall and are planning on touring all the major venues and as many player cantinas as we can muster. I'll be a month long event when we get around to it.
Musicians are very friendly and in the Cantinas they don't mind playing the lower songs for a bit, and it only takes a bit in a 20 man group, while you get up to the next song.
I have instruments for sale on the bazaar, or you can request them from me. As you get higher in skill, you can make your own.
Come to Chilastra. If you are looking to take your musical performance to a new level, then come look us up in Coronet, Corellia. We are Eternal Heart. We are always looking for new entertainers and we don't mind showing the new people what this profession is all about.
