Overt - It's not just for killing anymore ; )

I'm looking for some intrepid entertainers to join me in creating the Bestine's (and quite possibly the galaxies) first overt imperial band.

You might ask yourself why anyone would want to do this? The obvious downsides are of course that any moment a group of rebels with 3 pets each could bust in and and frag the lot of us, and that non-imperial medics would be unable to heal our action pools.

However, I also see glorious possibilities for those ambitious enough to brave these dangers, consider the following; the presence of a group of entertainers all overt would likely draw the attention of the aforementioned rebel do-gooders who are convinced that they can somehow make the world a better place by gunning down a bunch of harmless entertainers . This would in turn draw more imperial overts who would hang out in anticipation of the rebel's inevitable appearance. Creating a focal point for overt imperials.

This brings me to another point, as of now there is no real reason to be overt other than attacking something, there's no overt imperial community that is easily visible and accessible to players who do not actively participate in raids, etc. I believe that a quality overt band playing at the cantina would do something to remedy this. This could also lead to some covert imp. medics going overt, so they can help their fellow loyalists, (and exp too of course ). And maybe someday, (and yes I know I'm dreaming here) people might be able to recognize Bestine as an imperial city without having to read it in the loading screen .

Now I'm looking to make a real band here, not a bunch of guys that beat out the base line on SW1 over and over again (because they're afraid of using action points) while waiting for rebels to show up. I'm looking for guys that are willing to put a little elbow grease in and work out songs that actually sounds pleasing to the ear, people who actually want to entertain as well as heal. People who want to show neutrals and newbies how things are done in the empire (recruiting point perhaps?).How we'll do that is something to be discussed amongst the acutal band members as well as things like, do we take the first shot at rebels?, do we change venues away from the main cantina as a courtesy to other entertainers?. And remember, the cloning facility is next to the cantina for a reason .

A wonderful idea. I might try this in Coronet. As a rebel of course. Problem being I need to be neutral for my band so I can play for Imp and Reb PA's where the real money is at.
