Do you folks travel alot? I've found the Coronet Cantina on Eclipse to be an excellent place to meet people, help them and in turn be helped by them. But I've spent over a week there, and want to branch out. Just looking for general impressions, since I'm sure there's some server specific elements that come into play

Someone mentioned Hotels. I've only ever run through them exploring. Do people use these? Is there a benefit that would attract players to Hotels vs Cantina/Taverns beyond the pre-scheduled RP?

For mid-level adventure worlds, how travelled are the taverns/cantinas on them?

For band members, who's in a dedicated travelling band? What have been your experiences?

Hey Darniaq,

I play a musician on Naritus server. In my opinion, and from what I've read this server seems to have some of the most musicians out. I've travelled two planets so far, nothing extrordinary but with each city I've been to most people flock to the cantina for mind and battle fatigue healing. I've gone into theaters, and hotels but nobody generally comes. I prefer going to Theed on Naboo as a musician, because every night I go on I'm guaranteed at least 5 muscians and 3 dancers! It's amazing to play in a band. So until someone decides to advertise a band playing in a theater or hotel, I doubt it's gonna happen.

Yea, playing in a band is definitely the way I'm going. I so much prefer being in a band of other entertainer types. Good folks. Entertaining to me is really attractive as a fun system first, providing an ingame benefit to others somewhat distantly second

I'll always follow the crowd where they go. I don't mind an occasional late night quiet jam session in the corner of a musty coffee bar. But I much prefer a full band on a busy world with it all passing through the doors of the cantina

I like to travel for a few reasons

You get to see the whole galaxy. Each cantina is different and each holds new people. Since the Master Musician profession is quite rare relatively (at least on Radiant, I'd say about 10 or less) our ability to train at reduced prices as well our ability to craft instruments is in high demand. I move around and have my fav spots. Currently Coronet is the place i spend most of my time due to the high volume of Musicians and until last night *tips hat at Kel'lee* a lack of masters to help them. Soon I will be leaving Coronet as the musicians there are "almost there" and be going to smaller towns to help out. I am trying to visit every city and have visited quite a few with many more trips planned.

I just hope others locations don't cost as much as Endor...yikes...

There is in a lot of the smaller towns a bunch of musicians who do not have the money to pay for training or visit places where they can get training for cheaper. By bringing your skill to them you get to see their digs and help them out, creating a tighter community. You can provide them with instruments as well as increased XP.

I really enjoy playing the "wandering minstrel". I started (and am still mainly based) on Rori, which I've taken to describing as the planet *second* farthest from the bright center of the universe. Anyways, when things start getting monotonous, I go to a mission terminal and take the highest-paying deliver mission. Since Rori only has two cities (and a "secret" Rebel base), any deliver mission over 50 creds is off planet. Then I take another delivery to that same planet. Then get a one-way ticket there. This is an easy way to just spin around, point in a random direction and take off. If I land on a more populated planet like Tattoine, Naboo, or Correlia, I use the theater gig missions to check out the cities. Gig missions easily cover shuttle travel, so it's really only the inter-planetary ticket costs you have to worry about.

However, you might want to avoid any Endor deliveries unless you've got some credits saved up. A one-way ticket's, what, like 3000 credits?

As for the hotels, you'll get to know the little lounge well if you take gig missions. But you won't see many people, the audience always goes to the cantina. There's no benefit to the players in a game sense (they heal equally in a hotel as a cantina). But personally, I think the stage surrounded by chairs is a more professional looking setting for an entertainer.
