Thread: possible music suggestions for more fun
Right now, musician is a pretty straight forward profession, and doesnt have an extreme amount of depth. I enjoy it very much, and I'm working on having my own band and makingmy own "songs";but I'd like to see some stuff added to make it more fun, esp after getting to master.
Justa fewideas.
Have additional songs, intruments, or flourishes that can be bought for additional music xp (say 100k each) after you get master.
Be able to create custom flourishes --be in ten notes you can arrange. (although probably difficult to implement in game)
Have music played on the battlefield, augment the abilites of the fighters, and have the light effects have influence in combat. (ex dazzle could cause dizziness, or blindness, etc.)
feel free to comment or not.

early in development I think Holo actually wanted it to work in a way similar to this. The reason given for the lack of fully customizable music is that people could start playing a riff from a copyrighted song...
You don't see keyboards sold only able to produce predetermined riffs so you can't rip off copyrighted material, do you?
I suspect coding complexity made 'em shy away from it. If so, there's plenty of existing material out there, not hampered by copyright, which lets you take a given sample, say, a horn, flute, guitar string, whatever, and alter its pitch to change the note it plays.
Of course, it might have been the fact that most of us simply don't have what it takes to string notes together into something meaningful. Imagine a cantina full of random notes! Starwars1 would seem ... ok, starwars1 would still suck.
Well, and the current flourishestend to bedecently euphonic, even played on one another. Is that a pentatonic-blues-scale thing? I have no idea; music theory always eludes me when people explain it.
That said, and pretty convinced that it'd be impossible I'd freakin' love to be able to actually play melodies and such.
