Well, it seems that Mind instaheals finally made it to the test server. Now mind can be instantly healed just like health and action. Well, if you think that musicians or dancers get it, think again. Guess who they give OUR ability to. Combat Medics. Not doctors, not medics, not musicians, not dancers. Those mind-poison-run-like-b*tches-til-you-drop-and-come-back-for-a-DB combat medics. Yes, the profession compiled of the biggest jerks and wusses get our ability now. Its not live yet, but its on the Test Center. Slowly our line of work is going to be given out to others. I love beinga musician and playing in a cantina. But cmon, dont take everything but our music from us.

With so many fellow entertainers who claim to have a role in a group, the devs give the only one not in a bardic kind to an other profession. The only good thing is that they don't give it to CH...

Just out of curiosity, how do you see using dancing/music to heal mind damage during battle to be anything BUT a bardic ability?
We haven't lost it because we never had it. The CM gets wounds that required healing by an entertainer. I really don't see what the problem is.
entertainers SHOLD get it as a ability possibly like a posion type thing where you throw, i know tons of musicians/dancers with a combat profession. let us be able to have the abilty to heal peoples mind damages. Think about it our WHOLE profession is about healing mind...
As I understand it, the Combat Medic incurs substantial mind wounds by using this ability. It's conceived of as an emergency response, not a routine mind heal. But I haven't seen it in operation first-hand.
I have asked the devs whether this means we Musicians will or will not get mind heals. No response yet. I'll try again.
I remember when we asked for gig missions terminals... We had 5 minutes gig missions paying 450 credits and now 15 minutes mission paying 150 credits...
I don't ask abilities to play/sing while fighting but the abilities to heal mind like doctors or at least not give it to other professions...
What have we left ?
No money - devs have to find a sink money way -> they nerf entertainer missions.
People who enjoy the profession -> just train yesterday a new master who claims he will not have the NEED to play anymore music... Holocron have put a lot of people in our rank who dislike the profession.
As for our buffs. We had to spend more time trying to explain it (which is difficult since I can't test it on myself) than to trying to buff.
Well maybe I should seek an holocron and leave the profession to who have to master it... And why not by a huge pet by the way ? (I refuse so far to use a pet.)
Not to mention that Master Entertainer requires only 106 pts while Master Combat Medic requires 169 points, making it the second most costly profession in the game (tied with Commandos, behind Bounty Hunters) Someone with a MCM title has given up a lot of ability to get that title, not to mention that CMs have the lowest DPS of any combat class in the game. (A 500 pt poison, considered a 'great' poison by most CMs comes down to only 62.5 dps) And unlike other combat professions has to craft their own ammo out of quite a varied amount of parts. Most CMs put at least four hours of time tending harvesters and factories for every hour they spend PvEing or PvPing.
Of course at the end of the day there's nothing really stopping you from getting CM, yet only 1.08% of players are even Novice Combat Medics, in a profession that's not friendly to dabblers, behind Carbineers, Teras Kasi Artists, Commandos, Rifleman, Bounty Hunters, Pistoleers, and Creature Handlers. Every single other Ranged Combat profession and a couple non-ranged.
What about the Creature Handlers that have two pets on you that both do more damage individually the the CM's poison. And those same Creature Handlers can instantly heal the mind of their pets.
I hate to break it to you but Mind Healing is an ability sorely needed in this game and "Healing Damage and Saving the lives of your group members" is not in the Musician or Dancer or any Entertainer's class description while it is in the CM description. Should this ability also be give to Doctors? Probably, but on the other hand CM costs more points then Doctor too.
And I'm not even getting into the argument on how much sense does it make that you'd get brain surjery from dancers in a strip club and the band playing cheesy music in the background.
