Thread: Nalargon/Omni-Box Stop playing why?
Every time I play these two instruments I seem to stop playing (at the end of a song?)
Why?
Is there a way around this?
Does this hurt any buff I may be doing at that time?
Thanks!

(really peeved he can't buff himself but Doctors can)
I guess I prefer to pay attention to my customers, especially by individually targetting them and not my instrument at all times. It's more personal.
So, to me this is a workaround. Now I have to type my target's name out all the time.
It should not be necessesary to have my instrument targeted at all times.
It's kind of a technicality. You must have an instrument equipped in order to play it. That is true of any instrument, otherwise you stop playing. Since you can't actually 'equip' something that you're placing on the ground, the devs decided that having it as the current target would fill the requirement.
You have always been able to use targetted emotes and other commands by specifying the name of the target after the command. So, it really isn't an issue that you can't actually click on the person for targetted emotes.
However, with just this last publish, that functionality seems to have broken somewhat as several commands and player names have stopped working...
I've raised this issue with the devs several times, most recently just a couple days ago. It's become a bigger problem now that command-line emotes seem borked after the current patch. My guess is that it'll be easier for them to fix the emotes than the targeting issue.
Off to post about it again in the Correspondents Forum.
Important tip while trying to "buff" someone's Focus and Willpower, keep the musical instrument targetted, have the playerlisten to you - and then type /setperformance <playername>. This will return the message "You focus your attention on %T" (yes, %T). They should also receive "<playername> focuses their attetion on you". That's how you'll know if it's working.
The Nalargon+ Omni-box will give higher buffed stats, so just keep play'n for 5+ minutes (8 minutes seems to last almost 2 hrs with +400 focus / willpower).
Good luck!
I see what you mean. In my crazy world though, musicians who are playing music, very rarely talk at the same time. Sing maybe, but talk while playing a horn? Naaaa. Still, in this particular instance where you are completing against dancers and other talking musicians, what can you do?.
Is it me, or has the command-line emote problem improved over the last day or so? On both Live and Test Center yesterday, I played music and tried some command-line emotes, and they worked, even when I typed only the first few letters of the targets name. Are people still having trouble commnd-line-emoting?
