Does anyone know if the effects you get as a Dancer or Musician can be used while using the other skill? Eg, using a smoke bomb while playing music, or using ventriloquism while dancing?

I've been thinking about trying to master both, and was just curious if they could be used with each other

I'd like to know, too, 'cause I was thinking of doing up to Dancer Technique 3 in addition to the other stuff I'd like to do when I (eventually) ditch Bio-Engineering. Mostly so I can do a 50% mind buff, but since I'd also get Smoke Bomb, it would be cool!

I seem to recall when I had both Marksman and Brawling skills that I could Indimidate (a brawler special) while I was shooting at someone, as long as the target was within melee range. So that would indicate you can use a special action from another profession, as long as you're capable of doing it in the first place.

But it would be nice if someone who's versed in both could tell us for sure one way or the other?

Nope. You'll get a message telling you that you're using the wrong skill for the effect.

You can, of course, use the ones that are in both like spotlight, colorlights, and dazzle.

You used to be able to with a trick. The trick is you stop playing music, start dancing (Exotic is best because exotic doesn't move at all, the rest of the dances all move) do the effect, stop dancing, then start playing music again. You could do this by switching instruments or standing up fromt he Ommnibox to stop instantly.

On the Ommni Box I'd do this:
/stand;/startd exotic;/smoke;/stopd;/startm

This would happen quick enough that you wouldn't even stop playing music. However now when you stand you can't start dancing or music right away.

So no, you can't anymore.
