Thread: Cover charge for Player run Cantina?
Just curious to see if this has been considered by any of the musicians/dancers that have placed a Cantina in one of the new Player cities.
Would you consider adding a cover charge for entering and what fee would you consider charging?
Thanks for any who reply. (Also, is it even possible - I don't have Novice Artisanand Business 1 so I am not sure)
Never a cover charge at Deeva and Minnie's "Hot Spot" Lounge - Zero City - Talus (we are on the map :smileywink
- not even a 2 drink minimum.
I like to thnk that our Cantina is the meeting place for our city - any cover charge significant enough to be worthwhile to me is likely to keep people away.

If I were to put on a cover charge (I would only have to ask the chef who's merchant staffs the bar to do it) I suspect I would see a decrease in traffic. Oh yeah, and another thing, the chef that I asked to put in a bartender hasn't been able to keep the place stocked. If I were a chef and not a dancer, I would more than cover the cost of running the place on drinks alone.
A friend and I aree considering placing a guildhall as a cantina soon. We have it worked out that we will have a 100cr covercharge. The facility will include LIVE non-macro entertainers 24/7. We are placing the cantina on Starsider, so we have hired people who are willing to roleplayas they performas well as "bouncers" who will evict anyone who continually violates the only rule in the place: ROLEPLAY. In addition, we are looking forward to having the most famous musicians and dancers in the galaxy come and play for a night every once in awhile.
Downstairs there wwill be a room for each profession's goods to be sold--medecines, clothing, food, vehicles, equipment, resources, etc. A dark corner has even been selected for a spice dealer 8-)
On the upstairs patiois the main bar/restraunt area where people can sit and enjoy the outside air while enjoying food and drink from the finest chefs available.
We have decided that the goods that are sold in the cantina will be discounted 5-10% below what the crafter's average price for the item is. In this way, we reward our patrons for frequenting the establishment. The entry fee will need to be paid again once every 12 hours.
Let me know what you think aboiut this setup, I think it will be very successful--now we only need to finish working out the deal so we can pay our master architect back for the beautiful facility she has in mind.
