Thread: An improvement I'd like to see...
I would like to see an ability given to master musicians that would allow them to periodically send a message to every player currently on their planet announcing something. Picture the following scenarios:
You have been hunting in the Crystal Cave on Dantooine for several hours and have been taking quitea beating. Your battle fatigue is over 200. Suddenly, you geta message that says "Master Musician Bob is now giving a concert in the Mining Outpost Tavern, come on down and enjoy the show!"
You're hanging out on Mos Entha, killing the local scavengers while working on your creature handler skills. Suddenly you get a message that says "Be sure to check out the beautiful, exotic Master Dancer Brenda at the Mos Eisley Cantina, One Night Only!"
When I first started playing an entertainer, I had this image of doing a galaxy wide tour, with people flocking from all over the planet to come and sit in on one of my shows and be entertained. I'd also love to see the experience for these "concerts" be dependant on the number of people who show up in relation to the number of people on the planet.
I think this would add a lot of interest to the Musician skill.
I like this idea, but there would have to be some pretty drastic limits on this ability to prevent us all from spamming the game nonstop. Maybe a financial cost or some such.
As it is, we can /register in cantinas; that does announce our presence to the world. When it works. I visited one cantina this week at which /register didn't work. And I can't /register in my own player city cantina, since the owner is of the opposite faction from me.
