Thread: About the Macro problem and some ideas to fix.

My ideas are usually far and very few but I think this time I have something good to say.

I am not a dancer/musician or doc. But if they screw this up I will miss this game.


Option to help the game and ideas to put in if they remove macros.


1. Make a system similar that will stop a person from reapeting the same thing over and over. Make a standard timer for all channels. This will cut on afk spam.


2. The bazzar, this is a tool that is not used by anyone. Here is an idea make the Bazzar universal. Amerchant puts an item for sale on the vendor in his house. This items shows up on the bazzar and can be bought from anywhere in the galaxy the buyer then only has to go to the vendor to pick it up. The buyer recives an email with the merchants vendor. Now, why wouldI need to spam about my vendor all day when my stuff shows up everywhere and anyone can buy it? Also make the bazzar more useful like the bazzar from EQ. Allow us to search for item by type, creator, price.


3. Allow dancer and musicians to make and sell " holobuffs ", these buffs should be just as good as watching a dancer live. Creation of the schematic should go as follows. Part of the experimentation should be from doing the buff and part should need resources. These should not be hard to get or hard to come by the resources should be basic but still require good resources to affect the buff. With this in mind the buff's should now have a bigger variety and be as effective as health and action buffs. Dancers and Musicians will still have a need but players wont have to be stuck static on the screen playing a class that is totaly useless and boring. Make the dancer and musician classes a partial crafter class will create a more functional way to have them around and not affect the game play for the rest of the player base. SOE made has created a need for dancers and musician and doctors. Now if me and a huge player base that plays at 2:30 am or around 9am when most people are at work and we can't get buff of any kind around this will affect the way we play the game and utimately people will leave. Also by dancer and musicians making this " holobuff" does not mean a anyone can use it. They would still need a player Doc/Dancer/Musician to apply or some type of NPC that will do it for 3 times the cost making a real player the first choice but if that real player is not around you still have a choice.


4. Please don't make NPC dancer/musicians or doctors have to perform the buffs on some crap timer that takes 10 times longer. Make it so that the time is part of the experimentation on the crafting proccess of the " holobuffs". The game is already very time consuming as is. I have asked many many people and I get the same answer that it takes the average player about 30minutes -1 hour just to get set up before they can go hunt. Now with out afk buffers this is going to take even longer. Most poeple don't have this much time to play.


If you agree or disagree please post, I have a strong feeling that once they put in this change it might be very hard for most players.

It would help some, but it would also hinder. For example you might have made a typo in a text string you send to a canal, and you wand to correct it. Removing the AFKing will remove the AFK spam.

I have use the bazaar many times in the past, even though I have been a merchant for almost a year now, over half my total income from sales have come from the bazaar. It is an excellent selling tool for low price items that people buy on impulse or for items that sells one at the time. When I was a WS sliced VK's sold faster on the Theed bazaar then on my vendor.
And the link to the vendors was tried in beta I believe. Some merchants would sell the items cheaply and then ass a high entry fee, or block the entrance so people was trapped inside, or so they could not get to the vendor and get thair goods. Besides if you think vendors are laggy and chaotic now, the imagine the bazaar when 10 weaponsmiths each have 4000 weapons up for sale, just on naboo, and you try to find a laser rifle with advanced stock and scope. Then add another 40,000 items for every other profession...

This would make dancers and musicians in to crafting professions, there is a reason that we choose to become entertainers instead of crafters, and making our profession in to crafting professions would sere no other purpose then driving us away. Besides who would use live entertainers , if holobuffs was just as good, but faster to apply and more convenient?
We do not find being entertainers useless and boring. If we did we would quit the game or train another profession. Yes the macroTainers and the buffbots might feel that the profession is "totaly useless and boring", but they are not real entertainers, they are not live entertainers.
I could argue that all the brawler professions are totally useless and borring, and un starwars like to boot. So they should be removed. Ans while we are at it, remove scout and ranger and CH and BE. They are also boring and un-starwarsy. But I will not do so, I know that others find though professions fun, and I respect thair right to play them. All I ask is that others provide the same curtsy towards my chosen profession.
An obvious solution for playing at odd hours, would be to either change server and thus play in a different time zone where the hours fit better, or to befriend doctors and entertainers. Get them on you friends list so you can se when they are online, and make sure to tip well and treat them with respect, so that they will come and buff you when you need it.

Same as above, get to know a few entertainers and doctors, then when you go on a hunting trip with you friends you can properly get someone to come and buff you on planet you wand to hunt on.

Also remember that everything is not mend to be soloable. If think more, use good group tactic, and play in a group that know one another, you dong have to have buffs to take part in the high end PvE.

You may not like to hear this, but it is not a right to solo janta (sp?) mission on dantooine, or to solo the corvette or the nightsisters.
