Hmm, has anyone come across a bug that seems to stop xp gain?
The other night I was grinding only to find that my xp had stopped registering, so I did a shift reconnect expecting to see the xp come back (like the crafting xp bug) , but no -- it did not 
I tried everything I could to fix it, even zoning, running around outside the cantina like an idiot, /stoplisten in various combinations to no avail
Now I have logged in and it is fine, but the 'lost xp' still has not registered

There is a bug where when a person stops listening or watching an entertainer it turns off the entertainer watching or listening to themselves. There is a process that monitors musicians and turns the listening back on but not one for dancers. This is why when people stop listening you stop hearing yourself for a short period of time. It sounds like the process that monitors you didn't work or you were dancing instead of playing music. Normally doing a stop and start of the entertaining will get you a sudden flood of XP because it is accruing it just isn't being added to your stats. It sounds like you logged before it got reset and everything was lost instead. If you see it happening again try either /listen self or /watch self or doing a /stopm and /startm to reset the self listening.
