Felt an inspiration to make another post

I'm curious to see what you guys' cantinas look like and what's in them. I'll start.

In the entrance there's two awards from a player award ceremony (the NUNAs... think of it as the SWG Academy Awards) for best Imperial PA and Best Armorsmith (who has since left the game).

The whole theme of the cantina is Jungle, and I followed it pretty closely by using close to 150 or so plants while designing it.

The first cubby on the left is a quiet corner of sorts where one can relax away from the "business" throughout the rest of the cantina. This is also where George, the Official Mascot of TIG, is kept. He's an Aurilian plant I've helped raise from a seedling and has since grown into a Large plant.

The next cubby on the left (which you can kind of see in the screenshot) is a cage for the BSC's permanent residents: Scrumptous D. Light and Nibbles Meebum, two veermok given to me by a friend.

The first cubby on the right is an Imperial recruitment center, complete with an interactive (vendor) TIG Representative (The Imperial Guard, name of my guild) and monument to the brave soldiers of the Empire who have given their lives for the good of the Empire.

Past that on the right is a Krayt Dragon Shrine.Basically it's just a neat decoration piece, but it also has a Krayt Composite Segment, Scale, and Tissue from my guild's first ever Krayt hunt back in August of '03. Yes, I've actually kept them for that long. Also adorning the shrine is some Lokian Fireweed from when our city was located on Lok.

On the stage are two fountains that just look cool in my opinion. There's a small runway for small acts or the lead performer of larger ones to play on, otherwise visiting entertainers are down on the normal ground. In the middle of the cantina is a table with food and drink for guests along with a Fish Fry serving our home grown fish (from the fountains... yes there are fish in the fountains, go look if you don't believe me). Behind the counter is Chef Leedo and Bartender Beedo serving culinary delights to tourists and guildmates alike.

I'm eager to see what some of your cantinas look like

Unfortunately I do not hold the cantina on my own lots, at the time the mayor needed it put up I was holding other buildings, and now it cant be transferred due to the vendors. I am however in charge of running the cantina and I was in charge of decorating it. I tried to stick to a theme when I did the decorations. I aimed for something "modern" with out it being to "high class" or to over done. I also wanted it to be functional.

This first image is of the stage, I left it rather empty on purpose. Not only is the stage small enough as it is with out being filed up my decorations, but it should not be attention grapping by it self.
The painting and the two palm leafs was placed to brake up the dull wall.

This two image show the room in front of the stage. The space between stage and the furniture is mend for two purposes, for dancer to come of the stage when there are many performers(or the dancer wand to perform something different the exotic). And when the performers do not need the extra room, for the audience to come down and dance/cheer.
The black bench you can se on the side are ottomans, and the potted plants on either end just frames them nicely, and provide a bit of freshness. The other side of the floor is almost a mirror image of this side. In the back ground the VIP booth can be seen.

This one is of one of the three identical "booths", they still need a little spicing up with decorations, but I have not been able to find the perfect ones yet. They are mend to provide a small amount of "privacy", the sort of place where a smuggler can do his shady deals or where small group of combatants could share the spoils of thair last trip while discussing where to go next. (Well I have a right to dream of how it can work, do I not?)

This is the VIP booth. The table is made of six imperial end tables shoved together. I use the metal chairs because the sofa chairs did not go with the red carpet, and these chair looked confinable as well, besides they fit the table in style The small chest of drawers in the back holds drinks so the VIP do not have to go to the bar.
Function wise it do not do much the other booths cannot, but having a VIP area for the mayor and vice mayor does add to the rest of the cantina.

This is the area around the steps leading from the main floor to the "dance floor". I wanted more seats when the audience could sit and enjoy the performance. The glass table provide the café look with out looking worn (like the other round one does) and at the same time the "se throe" of the glass makes the room look sell cramped. The wooden chairs were the only ones that fitted the style I was going for well enough.

Last, one is a close up of the bar. Properly the most difficult area to decorate because of the vendors, it took some time to get them right, but I am happy with the outcome. I had feared that the hair of the female would stand out more then it did. The black and red colours are my guilds colours, so not much choices to make there.

EDIT: Should be clicky now, if they was not before.

Alrighty, well here are a couple shots of my cantina, The Paragon Pub, located in Emerald Ridge, Naboo (Naritus):

Overall it has a pretty simple appearance but there are a lot of little touches that make it really fun (and that took a lot of time). I should probably take some better shots and post them.

Some of the features:

  • Two "cafe" areas for quiet business meetings or a date with that special someone

  • Two VIP areas with a great view of the stage and comfortable seating

  • Large dance floor with nearby seating for when you've just boogied a bit too long

And a couple of those nice touches that you might miss at first, and are hard to see in these shots:

  • Droid bartender

  • Droid sound and lighting technician

  • There are sound and lighting droid interfaces at key locations so that the droid can control the ambiance from wherever it happens to be

  • Two stage spotlights

We're have several events in the planning stages for this cantina, and I'm excited about all of them.

EDIT: Forgot to make the links clicky

Checking your spelling (and punctuation, too) will ensure that you're making sense to more than two people.
