Greetings my fellow musicians.

After seeing the development in the Musician Correspondent Opening thread, and trying to decide if it was best to speak up or not I've finally decided to write you all with this and hope that when you're done reading this you'll know me a little bit better....

First off, I would like to apologize for the results of the thread. I had no intentions of having things go the direction that they did. When I saw the post I had noticed that the other applying candidates had a few people voicing support for them. And due to my past posting patterns wasn't well known. So I posted with the people that knew me best, the Corbantis community, asking that they come and show some support for me as I applied. I had absolutely NO IDEA so many would show up and post. Secondly I did not forsee them interpreting it as some sort of "player election". I had envisioned maybe 1 or 2 of my clients and 1 or 2 fellow musicians from my band posting something quick. When I logged in that night to find over 15 posts from Corbantians I was a bit blown away cause I was not expecting it. So I apologize for unsettling the situation with that. My intrests is to work for you guys (Musicians) just as hard as I've worked for my clients and bandmembers on Corbantis.

In that light, let me tell you why I applied. First and foremost thing that stands out right now is time... I've got lots of it. I have the time to devote to this, and be able to give you all 120%. I'm an unemployed college undergrad with a BA in Communication Studies (in short, Correspondence is right up my academic alley).

More importantly though, is the need. I may not have posted much hereover the year and a half I've been around, but I've always kept up with the vital threads in the forums, from small idea posts, to NewJedi's polling threads. The main reason I don't post much is we all tend to think alike, most often you guys come up with the same ideas I get before I even manage to post them (what can I say? Great minds think alike.)I've also logged countless hours In-Game as a Musician. So I know what the current state of the profession is, and I also see the potential of what it COULD BE.

In essence I would like to act as the bridge between you and the devs.

Getting your issues and ideas to them, in ways that are not only acceptable to them, but excite them about the profession so that they'll want to take action just as fast as they do with the combat professions.

On top of that, contributing a few ideas of my own as well to improve not just the Musician profession, but work with the other Entertainer correspondents to efficiently progress the professions along so that months from now, things will hopefully be drastically improved.

This is a slow process so not only do we need to give them our top issues, but I also want to then break it down into small progessive steps, making it just a little easier for them to work with us. For example, I've been involeved with a thread this past week about "serious songs", instead of being so broad and saying something like "more songs please", we try to break it down to something smaller, like say "give us A song thats of This style and slightly resembles songs like....etc."

I think if we can work with the Devs at their level, we'll get a whole lot more accomplished from our top issues, yeah 1 issue may take 3 weeks to resolve, but gradual progression is better than nothing at all.

NewJedi did a great job as Correspondent, he was on top of things and had his finger on our pulse. Its my wish that the person to follow him as correspondentis able to pick up where he left off, be able to stay on top of things, and keep things rolling.

And what my application and post in that thread that I was applying was to mean to you was: "I hear you all, I want to give you guys my best effort to help improve this profession."

Now I don't know ALL the ins and outs of the correspondent's postion, but I've got the time and willingness to learn it and learn it well so that I can give you guys the representation thatYOU DESERVE.

That all being said, whoever is selected as the new correspondent, lets pull together and get ourselves working like a well oiled machine so that we can sync with the Devs, and make this profession one of THE BEST professions in SWG!

(After all SWG is the only MMORPG to my knowledge that even has entertainer professions, so shouldn't they be some of the most unique in the game?)

See you all in the forums and please feel free to drop by and see me on Corbantis. If I get selected for correspondent, I'll use both my SWG accounts to try to visit you all on your server and see how things are goin. I'm also available online through the various IM's and so forth, just scope out my profile for the screen names and everything. If I'm available to chat I'm more than happy to take some time with you. Especially to hear about your ideas for these professions!

Sincerely,

Jon-Ari GreCa't
