Even during off-peak hours, you can probably bet that there's somebody available and willing to help you out.Haven't checked them all, but as of two nights ago Shadowfire has none. I'd be willing to bet this is true of most of the smaller servers.
I've been building a list of all the known entertainer channels on a thread here. No one from Shadowfire has informed me of one yet, but feel free to start your own. All it takes is to create the channel, and go to one or two cantinas and let everyone know, and ask them to spread the word. Put a post on Shadowfire's forum if you want.
And btw, Tempest joins Shadowfire as one of the smallest servers, and we've had our ATK chat going for quite a while
I'm hoping we can help reach out to the community by helping people find us more easily.
Off-peak-hours availability of healers in Cantinas and Hospitals

What made me listen up when reading TH's post was this:

And sure enough, in the very first reply, someone mentions NPC entertainers...
Frankly, I didn't bother to read past the first page, but even on there I found another suggestion of letting people heal their own BF, even if at a reduced rate.
And with the Devs always opting for the easy way out, I very much worry that we will indeed see NPC entertainers before too long. After all, those are bound to be easier and quicker to implement than making the musician and dancer professions more appealing to the general public. Because where would we be if a combatant wouldn't find a mind buff or bf healing at 4am?? Why, chaos would reign!!
You should have kept reading. There are some reasonable ideas in there that would both help the entertainers and the combat classes (and the droid engineers).
As I told someone arguing hard to put NPC entertainers in cantinas all the time, there has to be a little give and take on both sides if it's going to work. Tosteal a line from the musical 1776, "Revolutions come into this world likebas-tard children, Mr. Dickinson - half improvised and half compromised".
If you would see your cause of removing the AFK Buff Bots brought to a successful end, it may help to discuss ideas that will make as many people happy as possible.

I've played a rifleman. With and without buffs. Yes, dance and especially music buffs are a tremendous boon. Necessary for PVP.However, I never came to rely on them. I refuse to put myself in a position where I feel gimped because I don't have a specific crutch. I played very well, and gained acceptable XP fighting creatures and running missions that were within my skill.
If you feel that you simply cannot play your chosen profession without buffs, then it sounds as though your profession isbroken, and you should address THAT problem, and not the lack of a temporary boost.
Fett, your right. Yet if you want to hunt high levle stuff, you are force to spam special after special. Meaning you must have buffs.
I don't want a crutch either, that is why I made my second account a Musician. We have plenty of docs, so when I fight, I am always at peak efficiency. No reason to go at half power. Can I kill Quenkers at half power? Sure. Can I kill Nightsisters? Not really.
People just assume that buffbot owners are doing it to be rude or make a profit. The sad reality is, we did it because there were no living alternatives.
