Thread: A small thing that made me happy

I recently had two real life friends activate their trial periods for the game, and played a few hours with them, showing them the ins and outs of swg. I've talked with them about the game before, often recounting experiences I had in the game, or the latest hot forum topic.
Anyways, one's a brawler, the other's a medic, and we went to the outskirts of Theed killing chubas and what not, and so the brawler had what might've been (as a random guess) about 20 BF and an insignificant amount of wounds. We logged before I could bring them to get healed up.
The other night, I was over at their apartment, and at some point, the brawler started up the game to play casually for a bit, while I was doing something else. At some point, he asks me "hey, can you tip from the bank?" and I let him know how. I then was wondering why he needed to and asked whom he was tipping, and he said he was tipping the dancer he was watching, because he had gotten some healing from her, and he said it as if it were the most natural thing ever (to be fair, he hears about the game from me, an entertainer).
This just made me happy, and I thought I'd share .

We are supposed to get tips?

I have found, at least on my server, that if I stick to playing in the ever-empty Bastine cantina I get some good tips, so I was spoiled. I went to Eisley (in desperate need of human interaction) to find a complete lack of tipping! I've learned to not even expect it in busy cantinas, and only go to them for fun now. It is refreshing to hear that some people are "raised" right. Thanks to all who make sure their non-ent friends know "the rules of tipping"!

Back when I was grinding up musician, january, the Dantooine Mining Outpost tavern used to be empty. It wasn't as busy a town as it is now, but still got a lot of traffic. So I'd go there looking for tips, not worrying about experience (tradeoff).

Course, it's different now. Most any cantina, on my server, that gets any kind of traffic (except Eisley) will have a buffbot.

Actually, I find I'll get tips in Mos Eisley, but it's just from new people who "don't know any better," and for a couple hundred at a time. I thank these people with great enthusiasm. Then I tip the entertainers.

I realized as I was falling asleep last night that I never signed my post...I was trying to hint that since I gave the suggestion, I wasn't trolling for tips, so I'll sign this post so you know who not to tip.

Would you believe that last post was a miss-tell?

Folks tip me a lot in dant mining outpost for just BF healing them. Anywhere else forget about it. Even when buffing they are so used to buffbot's if they tip its like 2k, big if though, half the time they try to walk away with nothing tipped, until i let 'em know its common courtesy to tip for services provided that have no otherwise set charge....so I been setting the price before hand now...
