Thread: What sounds do the instraments make?

I played a fanfarr for the first time the other day, and was suprised to hear an almsot bass sound coming out. I am no Musician in real life so I cannot tell exactly what they sounds like. So could people help me figure out what all the instaments sound like? Might help me better when going up the skill tree

The Slitherhorn sounds sorta likea Sax. The Fizzz has a much more mellow, Oboe-type sound. The Medoviol sounds like a bass guitar. The Omnibox has Keyboard and drums in the back...and thats all I can remember, I'm afraid.

The Slitherhorn sounds mostly like a clarinet/kazoo combination. The Fizzz can either sound like a sax or a trumpet depending on the song. The bandfill/ommni box sounds like a bass and drum combo, with some mallets thrown in. The Nalargon sounds like steel drums for the most part, except it sounds like a piano in Virtuoso. The Mandoviol sounds like a violin in most songs except in starwars1 it sounds like a funky electric guitar.


The bad thing about musician though is that some instruments sound the same. The Slitherhorn, Fanfar, and Traz sound the same; the Bandfill and Ommni Box sound the same;the Fizzz, Kloo Horn, and Chidinkalu horn sound the same too.


Not all instruments sound the same as they do in other songs.

Actually, the traz has a clarinet sound in at least half of the songs...it's different than the fizz/chindinkalu/slitherhorn/fanfar group...

Traz is always the same sound within a song as Slytherhorn and Fanfar. Now those sounds do change from song to song, and sometimes on one song the S/Fa/T group will sound like an instrument that the Fi/K/C group sounded like on another song but they are separate groups with different sounds from the other group while Identical within the group.


Also on SW1 the Nalargon sound is that of an organ....not pipe organ or Casio, but the sound of a Leslie organ that you will still hear used by great blues bands. Its kinda a scream/whistle of the note with a vibrato. Very hard to describe and very hard to accurately recreate in electronics.


I'm gonna try to put together a complete guess list in the next day or 2.
