Thread: Where is being a Musician fun for you?...
That, and random outdoor locations when I'm waiting around for something.
Cantinas, starports, out in the middle of nowhere...

For me its not location, its the level of traffic.
That's the key there. On Wanderhome its about half n' half in Theed. Sometimes its no or not many afk'ers, sometimes only afk'ers. I avoid Coronet like the plague. Correction, Coronet Cantina, the starport and where the docs out fornt of starport can be fun. Dantooine Mining Outpost see's a lot of traffic, but not always a fun place, people there are to buff and get to the cash grinding, of course that can alter depending on my own moods. ![]()
At the master level as a musician I strongly suggest finding a group of people that hunt together, and go out with them. So few people experience hearing some good sw1 with a mandoviol while there fighting, really helps bring out the Entertainer profession in my opinion. Not to mention (esp with a large group) your guaranteed to get healing xp when a camp is pitched or you all stop by a pa cantina / hall / house or in a static city cantina. And because you being there a) with friends and b) to aid in focus / willpower buffs, healing quicktime (especially the docs and medics) minds in camps, and quick BF healing in solid structures, they let you get a fair chance of getting some high end loot you will never ordinarily see.
This is one way I have managed to "beat" the buffbot's. If the live entertainer is actually WITH the people looking for them when they wear off....well they have a doc with them usually, and now a master musician? No going back to cities ever...huge points if you pick up a combat profession too. But personally I am a pure enertainer, music, entertainer, and working on master ID, and some business thrown in for my music shop...and I can still be a valued part of a hunting group. Hope this helps, Cheers! ![]()

The amazement coming from a person that hears Jazz or Virtuoso for the first time and exclaims "I've never heard that song!" And you nod and smile, remembering what it was like grouped in Coronet and having to bump down to Rock to help the new guy get experience. What a long way you've come since then.
Yeah... ![]()
And that amazement gets still larger when they hear those songs (or ceremonial too) from a full band with all instruments represented, and with synchronized (i.e. non-random) flourishes that actually sound good. So performing with the band I'm part of would definitely be my favorite way to have fun ![]()
But like so many others here, I can have fun in most places where a few friends are gathered. I know quite a lot of ATK entertainers, and they are slowly starting to reclaim Theed and Bestine cantinas as Publish 10 approaches. Two days ago I wandered into Theed cantina at 10pm with the intention of logging there right away... saw a few friends, joined their group (only 4 of us, and a droid), flirted with a pretty Twi'lek dancer for a while, talked about a lot of stuff on groupchat, and when I finally tore myself away, an hour had passed... and it's things like these that make this game and this profession so much fun to me ![]()
